Define "pretty fast"... I've been training just a single ship for almost a year and it's still not maxed. And you NEED maxed to be competetive with older players.

Yes, but the awful thing is that it's the new players who are doing it, most likely because they come into the game with (incorrect) preconceptions of how the "progression" in EVE works. It's particularly sad since it's a simple matter of not having been properly educated on the matter by the game. 
So what you're saying is, you believe your OPINION is correct, while my EXPERIENCE is wrong?

People need to quit thinking EVE is a solo game and work as a team (author of this post included ).
Actually, veterans can quite easily slaughter huge numbers of noobs concurrently with little effort. I've done it several times.

Doesn't change the fact that a huge number of noobs can slaughter and old player with ease.
Nah, I wouldnt engage if i saw they could slaughter me.
