Not one of those crap leaving threads, but, i've left the world of EVE.
Basically, shiva runied EVE for me. It's not the bugs or lag, I just don't like anything about the new patch apart from the interface...
I did not feel like I was playing EVE anymore.
The game now feels like a slash/hack game, with missions taking over an hour now for a measily $40k isk. What a waste of time...
Anyways, I was just wondering what effects Shiva had on you.
Account waiting to be suspended. I'll go play WoW and come back in 6 months :)

8 funky looking ships to play with. Complexes, harder missions. An aspect previously lost in the game reincarnated (not saying anymore).
Better stuff to mine so when I have to do it, it doesn't take so long. Nicer scenery when semi afking or chilling out. More atmosphere and scenery on missions and in complexes.
Realisation that I'm gonna have to go get all 10 research agents upto L4. Which tbh is a real bind.
A shed load of bugs which are gradually dissipating. Which are annoying but workable.
Basically a Exodus has taken me back to semi noob while I relearn the ropes. Then I realised how many possibilties there are and how much the game has expanded. What was becoming a closed known universe has now opened up again.

Fair enough.
I guess everything I liked doing has changed somewhat and I do not enjoy iy as much anymore.
I have yet to try complexes (because of all these bugs im hearing about). Missions are dead boring now, no pun intended.
Rat hunting is still all good... Never liked mining.
Perhaphs you could give me some suggestions on what to try next? I have 2.5m skill points, only have crusier skills at the moment.

Edited by: Valan on 05/12/2004 06:52:11 If you're tired take a break, give them time to iron the bugs out.
Biggest thing to remember is that its not an ISK race to a BS. I have more fun in destroyers and my Crow than I've ever had in a BS. My god I love that ship. I recently got a Wolf which is pretty smart. Biggest thing in EVE is finding a group to hang out with and have a laugh. Get in a frig and go find a low level rogue drone nest and work upwards. Freaky sound effects and drones are not as easy as you think in a frig. Them damn Splinter drones are fast. Think Vic clocked one at 3k, hes a traffic cop what can I say.
Must admit we log off when the bugs get too much and go play CoD for a bit. Change your subs to monthly and log back in a month. Set a big skill going first.

You couldn't possibly be refering to ramming people to prevent them from aligning for warp, could you?
Might not be such a bad thing if it didn't also make group mining ops about 400x more annoying than they were before.

If they have to fix ALL bugs before they release Shiva it will NEVER be released. It's impossible to fix all the bugs.
There comes a point where you just have to release it, otherwise you WILL be working on it for the rest of time.

Truth to tell, i'm loving Exodus - New Ships to play with (not that i've trained for any, i just can't seem to stop getting those skills for a Raven topped up!) and seeing the new Destropyer class, Battle Cruisers and the such take thier place in PvP is outstanding.
It brings a new dimension to Fleet battle, and PvP in general. On the PvE front, mining doesn't take as long, as already mentioned, when you have to do the necessary evil - and when you do, you get lots of pretty new gas clouds and the such to stare at aimlessly.
Ok, so it started off buggy, but i think anyone that was around for the Castor deployment, can attest to the fact that it's no where near as bad, and they're getting cleared up a lot quicker.
Long Live Exodus! Well, until Kali that is.....

If i see one more post about going back to castor my head will explode.
1. The bugs and lag will go away eventually. Upgrading a server the size of TQ was never going to be smooth no matter how much beta testing there was.
2. If you dont like any of the new exodus features, dont use them.
3. Have a T2 tissue. The rest of us are off to have some fun. -------------- The Eve Diplomacy Table
