Hi, i'm travelling a lot for work so i was wondering if there was a way to check, add and manage my skills with an external program or better with a browser. The main problem is that often i've access to internet but or with my netbook or in an internet cafe' where there isn't eve online installed. If there isn't...well...it shall be a nice idea to work ... isn't it CCP?!?! :P

You can apparently install Eve on a thumb drive (USB stick, whatever you want to call it) for use in internet cafes/on your netbook while you are traveling. I know trying to actually play eve on a netbook... well... it just wouldn't work, but with everything turned all they way down you just may be able to get in enough to change your skills. Best of luck!

Good luck with that. Just set skills that you would never train normally, like a BSv or whatever.

There's a application I had installed on my phone that would allow me to access my desktop at home. I logged into eve once to see if I could play from my phone, but unfortunately it was like a slide show.
Changing skills would probably work, though you would need to leave the home pc on while you are away in order to access it.

last I heard EVE-GATE, in Beta testing, will allow skill training setting.

As has already been said. Yes, you can install Eve onto a USB drive and play it from there. Plug it into your internet cafe machine (and make sure its virus checked before you plug it back into your own machine)
If you really want to you can supposedly run Eve on a netbook using "3D Analyzer" to trick eve into thinking you have the right shader model available. Apparently the frame rate is terrible, but OK for changing skills etc -> http://www.eve-search.com/thread/1113736/page/1#5
Sounds like this is what you need.

Confirming Eve client will run on a Acer Aspire One with a Atom N260 1.6Ghz. Will run about 20-30fps in station and about 5-15 undocked in non-busy systems. Usable for non-pvp activities. I even ninja salvaged with it. But it wasn't fun.
This was, of course, on Eve's lowest settings.

I support the idea of remotely handling your queue. The alleged argument against it, so I heard, is that CCP would be afraid people won't be playing the game any more that way. But to that I say, Who cares? It's still a paying customer setting his skills. What do you care whether he actually logs in to play or not?

They added the 24-hour queue, which, if you think about it hard enough does the exact opposite of what CCP bragged it does. It causes people not to login as much within a 24-hour period. And, when people go to queue up skills, it doesn't mean they are always getting on to play. The majority of time skill queueing is outside of game time. So it's not that big of a problem anyways. So yeah, I'm all for this.

Ok i'll try to install EVE on my netbook (would it be enough if i'll copy and paste the whole EVE folder from my computer to my netbook??). Eve gate seems interesting too, i'll take some info on it. About the "is CCP afraid people will not play EVE" i dont think so...i mean..if u log eve, put skill and log off or if u lof a forum or a smaller program, u put your skill and u log off...there isn't any difference! I hope CCP will implement somethings like that...just to make stuff faster for casual player or traveller like me. xoxo

I am hoping this will be introduced with EvE-Gate
I am a sailor. We have access to the internet on our ships through a communal computer, but of course the computer doesn't have the EvE client on it and because idiots keep messing with it and shafting it up it is forbidden to run other programs on it. It is an internet portal, full stop.
The net result is that when I go to sea I either have to start training a skill that takes more than a month to train, or ask my girlfriend to sort out my skill training. When I do the latter I generally return to find the immortal phrases "One skill completed" and "Training queue inactive" and "Oops.. I forgot.. never mind it's only a game"
EvE-Gate skill management would seriously fix this for me and for anyone else that has the sort of work that finds them on all sorts of different computers, internet connections etc.

Because if everyone just pays and train skills from an external application, there is no one actually playing. And if no one is logging in at all because they can change skills out of game, eve is a desolate and deserted wasteland of an MMO. And At that point what we be the point in paying so you can train your skills? There are no people to use your skills with (or on). So people stop paying to train their skills.
Obviously the above is hyperbole, more realistically, if you don't have to log in, it is much easier to loose interest and eventually stop 'playing' (and paying). (much like a sale gets you into a store, logging on to change a skill gets you 'in' to eve. Once logged in you might read a mail or chat or whatnot, ie. play).
Finally:
You damned kids! In my day we either woke up at 4am to change a skill or used some goddamn common sense when picking skills to train when!
