It's normal. Node can't usually handle it unless CCP is told. Just have to put up with it. |

it's been worse after dominion - although the only difference before dominion really was how many pilots it took, major fleet fights fill til they lag, more or less.
if pilots warn CCP ahead of time they can reinforce the node which helps, but it's not always feasible.

This is normal and one of the main reasons players don't go to 0.0. and has led to people quitting Eve altogether. |

I absolutely do not accept that we have to "just put up with it".
Would you just put up with buying a car which broke down every time you carried a few passengers, no , you would be reporting the faults and getting recompense or replacement product because it was not fit for purpose. Moan like hell or it will get swept under the carpet.

Maybe we should start paying car payment -sized monthly sub fees for eve. Bet they could get it worked out then..

That said, if I bought a bus that easily seats 78 people, then stuff 212 people in causing it to be slow, wobbly and scary at cornering, I'd not whine about the bus, but try to get the manufacturer to build bigger busses.
I see what you did there..
All the above is prolly crap Drone Guide

Except in this case it's not the passenger's responsibility to monitor passenger volumes on buses, it's the bus company's. If they only built a bus capable of carrying 78 passengers, they should only be allowing 78 passengers to buy tickets to ride. Besides, their bus used to be able to handle more passengers until the fancy new upgrades were installed which ended up making the bus unstable at busy times.
I too see what you ^^^ did there _____________________________________________ fsuicgks (this is not gibberish, it is deeply profound

There are limits to what hardware can be bought. There are limits to what the hardware can do.
Everyone must accept that the product is not infinitely scalable. What is needed is an elegant solution to limiting the number of ships in a system at one time.
I have no idea what it is.

Ok - 35% of you must cancel your accounts. Since I came up with the idea, I get all of your stuffs.
But to answer the OP - yes its "normal" now unfortunately. There was a period of time prior to Dominion that it was much better, and some fleet fights were actually bareable.
The problem is that if CCP makes it possible to have fleet fights with 500 ships and have it not lag, you know players will work harder to get that extra 50-100 ships on their site in order to conduct the battle and win it by blob. Something about blob must stop.
Personally I think the answer may lay within twitch control. Too much of the game relies upon stats and picking the correct configuration. A small amount of success relies on piloting and being able to target in the game. Often times its - Listen to the FC, target, click buttons. If more was up to the skill of the individual player, then perhaps numbers would matter a little less, and the skill of the actual player more.
Flame on.
Edit for horrible spelling. Too much reliance on spellcheck makes me a bad splerrer -----------------------------------------------
