Evening fellow pilots of EVE, I've setup a small project for a web fitting tool which is currently in alpha alpha alpha (And yes I do mean ALPHA) stage, and I'd like people to give it a try.
Its located at:
http://webfit.no-ip.org
Its still in its very early stages so please bear with me while I iron out the bugs (which I'll appreciate you post if you find (which you will ^^)).
To create a fit, just register (it takes seconds), and from then on you'll be able to play with the fitter.
Hope ya like it and Pimp ON!!!

I approve of this concept.
Web based fitter would have some interesting possibilities (shared corp/group fits for example... why not a multi user fleet maker) as well as being linked to the market permanently, so would have proper isk values.
Currently it appears the registering thing doesn't work, but I will keep checking back. GL to you sir, I'll happily beta test anything you like.

I'll add more verbosity to the login process. At the moment it doesn't report pack anything and can make it awkward. :)

-It does support importing fittings in EFT format -Share fittings is a todo (Actually shall be ready tonight) -Export to EFT format, is a todo (Also for tonight) -Rating system Implemented but not yet funcional (As per requested elsewhere) -I'm not intending to ripoff any feature from anyone, if the BattleClinic guys think i've "ripped off" a feature, I'll gladly remove it. I built this for one reason "Cause I can".
All positive/negative comments are more than welcome. -Any other sugestions

Looks to be very promising.
Agree that a robust web based app would be amazing for versatility and collaboration between friends/corp members.
Being able to construct a fleet make up would be amazing, if for nothing else to see how different ships/builds interact with each other. Maybe even a fleet battle simulator

Edited by: Seriously Bored on 12/05/2010 17:25:36 Beautiful idea, and I wish you the best of luck working on it. It will be great for us space grease monkeys who don't have EFT at...certain locations.
After playing around with it, I have a few comments:
1) Being able to search for modules would be a massive benefit. I could not remember for the life of me where Salvagers are in the menu. (Electronics and Sensor Upgrades > Scanners > Data and Composition Scanners? What the hell CCP.)
2) There should be a faster way to load charges, scripts, or ammo into a module...perhaps the ammo slot could be a drop down box with all usable options available? It would also be nice if double-clicking ammo or a charge loaded it into the first legal module that can use it.
3) The program currently grossly overestimates DPS. Not sure what the cause is...but by no means does my Vargur spit out 1574 turret DPS (and trust me, I wish it did).
Good start though. Keep trucking! This looks very promising.
ED: Also, registration didn't seem to work for me. No error messages fired, by it didn't seem to take.

Edited by: DIE DAMNIT on 12/05/2010 23:11:52 @Seriously Bored, a search feature will be implemented very very soon, as well as easier ammo/script changing. The estimated dps is calculated with a 25% resits across the board. I have to open up the ability to change that value :) I've fixed up the registration thing a bit, but it still isn't pretty.
@LadyStrider, Hmm just noticed that... wierd (to the dev mobile)

- The fitting importers for both Eve Xml files (clipboard/file) are now both implemented.
- A few issues with registration have been fixed.
- Changed the way ammo is loaded to make it a bit easier (although its still not great).
- The loadout searcher and item search will be implemented asap as well

It doesn't seem to be updating the capacitor table when placing rigs into the rig slots. I tried both CCC's and Semiconductor Memory Cells, the CCC's didn't change how long the cap lasts and the semiconductor didn't increase capacity.

The site is coming along very nicely. Love the new search ability.
I'd still like DPS to be calculated correctly...preferably with taking reload time into account, but just getting within the same ballpark would be useful.

Yeap, reload is on my list of things to implement (its already in, their is just no place to tell the fitter to use it.) Also, the Damage Profile to use for applying dps calculations needs a menu to edit/select profiles (eg: 25% across the board, em 75%, therm 20%, blah) and stuff like that, but you are right, i'll have to make sure the numbers add up correctly. Could you please post your setup in eve xml or eft format (or eve mail it), so I can run it through the fitter and see wth is wrong.

Under the market/faction/complex/commander tabs, you have all the deadspace modules listed in the faction tab, as well as all the regular faction modules, which makes the list massive.
Maybe move deadspace modules into the complex tab?

- Adding the ability to change individual skills on the fly for certain modules would be great. - Add the ability to deactivate/overheat individual modules - Add a total EHP loadout (to lazy to add shield/armor/structure EHPs together) - Make the search bar auto-update instead of pressing search? Very minor point though. - Make it more obvious when pg/CPU limit is exceeded? - I can't seem to be able to put drones in my ship. - Multiple weapon ammo changes (you've mentioned this though) - The tanking statistics, on my Tempest for example, says R[einforced] 893.8hp/s and S[ustained] 743.7hp/s. Slightly misleading - is that before or after resistances have been factored? If the former, another statistic for total DPS tanked including resistances would be great. - Adding a cargohold tab would be great, something EFT doesn't have (IIRC). Would be cool to know how many cap charges/rounds of ammo fit in our ships. - When browsing other people's setups, the graphics are borked: the name of the ship is written over the high slots of the ship in question (may be my computer being ******ed however.)
1) Ok, think I screwed up the grouping there. Will move them over. 2) Module state switching is what i'm currently working on for the ui. Its done in the backend, just can't switch it from the web atm. Will be in this afternoon. 3) Total EHP, Yeap, overlooked that detail. Will be added. 4) Auto-Update the search, could do. (Hitting enter also works) 5) PG/Cpu limits. I'll change the way this info is displayed to make it more obvious. 6) I screwed up the drone interface while stripping down the fitter (will be fixed today). 7) Didn't quite catch the tanking statistics part. 8) Cargo hold stats, could do :) 9) No you are right, the fit preview is not done, its hacked together for quick omg I need to see factor.
Thank you for taking a look at it. I'll try to get this sorted out plus continue on the missing features :)

My point on the tanking statistics is that it displays them in terms of HP/S which suggests it's taking only into account the boosters/repairers and not the resistances.
If this is the case, another statistic readout factoring in the resistances of your ship is a must.
Otherwise a fantasic idea and so far well implemented.

Random idea, don't know how implementable it is: Would be cool if you could visit the site from the ingame browser using the "trusted site"-thingy to autoupload your current fit. Very awesome; if you can get this to be as useable as EFT, it'll be an incredible boon for mac players - as a first glance all I can think of are things that I believe are already on your list.
The ability to select inbound damage profiles for tweaking your tank to suit different situations.
Is there an easy/quick way to remove modules? Preferably also a button that'll automatically go to the market group, a la right-click in EFT?
Make the drop-down list automatic; it's silly that I have to click 'load ammo' for each gun. Also, is there a way to load the same ammo to all guns simultaneously?
Of course, any way you can speed up the webapp's performance would be good, but that also might be my comp being slow.
Overall this looks incredible. Keep up the good work!

Selecting inbound damage profile is on the way.
I can reenable double click on module to remove (I replaced it with the menu due to dbl-click being a screen resize on phones etc.
Opening the market group directly is going to be kinda complicated :)
The select list unfortunatly can't be made automatic as it doesn't support this funcionality. I'll look into an alternative way of displaying it.
Thanks for your comments! <3

Looks nice. Couple of minor things if you can make it work:
Some way to set ammo for all turrets / guns at once. Volley 'DPS' is inaccurate. A volley's doesn't have damage per second just damage. |

Didn't read everything now.. But when there's more than three digits in the pg/cpu meter it drops down to a second row, making it a bit confusing, as it may look as if the calibration cost is overused. Should be solced if you made the sidebar with those stats wider I guess. Also, maybe if it would be possible to use the select ammo for the weapons all in one go, was a bit tedious taking that scroll menu over 8 weapons, what with the little delay due to the web interface and all. Maybe it's something I just missed though?
Otherwise it looks great, good job.

The power / cpu column has also been widened a bit to give it more room to grow.
There we go, included an option to copy the ammo to all modules of the same rack, once loaded. Hope that helps with ammo loading.

Few issues of seen in my limited usage:
There's no way to remove drones after you select them, hence why this fit has 2 hobgobs in a 5m^3 bay.
Also, a way to copy modules the way you can copy ammo would be nice.
Most pressing issue is the summary screen though, which can be seen here: http://webfit.no-ip.org/loadout/index/e02568a7-1965-438b-89f0-6a39e36b33fe Many stats are wrong (either completely, or with commas/decimals in the wrong place) and some don't even show. DPS, for example. Another example would be speed. The client said it would run at about 1012 m/s when i was fitting, but it claims a whopping 1012,879 m/s! |

Edit: Also, not sure how to summarize this, so I'll describe what happened.
I was fitting both a vexor and a catalyst at the same time, in two different tabs. I started the vexor, then switched to the catalyst without issue. However, before I finished the catalyst, I switched back to the vexor and tried to add an Expanded Probe Launcher I. As soon as I added it, my vexor fit was replaced with my Catalyst fit.
Edit 2: Did a bit more testing. Haven't found a way to switch the Vexor back. Switching in random modules non the Catalyst doesn't change it to a vexor, nor does adding a probe launcher.
1) An option for removing drones/show info is on the way. 2) Copying modules... hmm... maybe :) 3) The comma separator on values is the localized version of the "." for my locale, the fitting summary window is being built now and is currently a general mess until I finish it. (Should of left a note on it on that page). The spead you are seeing "1012,879" actually means "1012.879". 4) Ok, didn't know there would be a need for having 2 fitting sessions active at any given time, this isn't difficult to implement, i'll get it ready today.
Many thanks for you comments and sorry about the issues :)

Just a note - the same issue that was occurring with the Dominix Navy Issue is happening with the Tengu and I assume other T3's - is there a way for it to handle the subsystems and such? The error it gives me right now is something about having lost a connection.

And there we go, several issues with the calculations are solved. Modules using that used to apply strange magic bonuses no longer wave their magic wands (ie: Weapon Upgrade modules being affected by advanced/weapon upgrades and stuff like that). Very cool!
When you go to "Browse", and you click on someone's name, you get a 404 page.
Example:
http://webfit.no-ip.org/profile/viewprofilen/Anonymous
(tried http://webfit.no-ip.org/profile/viewprofile/Anonymous as well in case of typo, still no joy)
Love the site, makes the workday go by faster :)

I've not done anything for displaying profiles atm for lack of anything creative to put there. But i'll get something up so it doesn't display a 404, instead something usefull like err... loadouts ^^ <3 Rei |

Looks pretty slick, only immediately after registering I was unable to log in. Could be me managing to miskey my password twice when creating, but that seems a bit... unlikely.
Would appreciate password reset feature.

My cousin has an iPhone, will ask him how well it loads. All it needs is the page dimension alerted etc so it fits snugly

Hey, great tool, just one problem
is it possible to make it iPhone/smartphone friendly? I tried to use the site on my iPhone (can't find any other fitting tool for the iPhone) and when I went to brouse items once I opened up arty cannons I could scroll down the module bars so I couldn't use it :( I love the idea mate, if it was smartphone friendly it would be perfect

Apparently the browser on mobile devices do not implement the css overflow property. I'll see what I can do to implement custom javascript scroll logic.

Overall an excellent job, keep it up :O)

Fantastic tool, one issue I have with it though, it wont spawn the scroll bar on the side of the module tree on my android browser. . . Is it possible to bump the search bar down say 300 px to allow more room for the tree to expand? Only really a problem when fitting a T3 ship

Hi there. At the moment webfit is undergoing a mayor overhaul of the ui bits, but anyway:
Originally by: Sigras Fantastic tool, one issue I have with it though, it wont spawn the scroll bar on the side of the module tree on my android browser. . . Is it possible to bump the search bar down say 300 px to allow more room for the tree to expand? Only really a problem when fitting a T3 ship
A few mobile users have reported the issue with the scroll bars not showing up, aparently no mobiles implement the css overflow property and therefor don't show up correctly. I'm looking into solving this with custom javascript.
What problem did you get while fitting T3 ships?
Originally by: Orewell Webfit is not adjusting powergrid and cpu according to pilot stats for me. Other then that, great tool! Will be sending you ISK in game later today when I get online as a token of appreciation for your efforts =-)
Should be ajusting correctly... I'll give it a run and see what went wrong there.
Thanks for giving it a try.

The problem only effects strategic cruisers because only the subsystems are down that far.
Its just that the scroll bars don't spawn you you can't select gallente subsystems

If I view a public fitting, then save it and change the view settings to private it makes the loadout vanish from the browse listing -- maybe make it so if I view a public fitting and save it, it saves it to my loadouts instead of seemingly editing the original creator's copy? Other than that this is brilliant so far! Good work .

1. Go with the Droid X. . . Its better than the incredible 2. Yes provided that the scroll bar issue I've been talking about gets fixed which he said he's working on.

Sorry about the delay, i've been very busy working on the ui parts for the new look. Which is now done. Give it at try, most of the issues reported earlier should now be solved.
The issue still standing is the css scrollbar thingy, still working on a fix for that.

Looks very interesting. Perhaps I'm missing something (or my browser filters it out) but I don't see any "tooltips" with stats on specific modules when I mouseover them. Apart from that, having to manually select charges is pretty much a pita. I have no real solution for it other than (perhaps) having an extra selection box with ammo types and THEN add the weapons to the ship?
