Most other MMORPGs have a way to vary your play style.. weather its with alts that when you reach a certain level dont need to repeat the noob stages (DAoC for example iirc) or FFXI you can train diferent jobs so if you get bored you can switch.
I think varying gameplay would help ppl keep playing for longer.
