deffinately smoking somthing, without a doubt nobody forced CCP to have a safe empire the implementation of a newbie safe area is fundemental to the design of any PvP massively multiplayer game

i pay 40mil for a payout of 80mil

im lazy and only pay 35mil for a payout of 72mil
sorry, you got scammed, BC producing doesnt cost more then 22-24mio isk
i wasnt scammed, im the one who built the ferox, i was stating thats what ppl sell them for and thats what the insurance max is.
i lost my ferox due to a bug, i had a station kill me for no reason. ----------------------------------------------- Linkage |

The suggestions for "towing ships" to recover wrecks is an excellent one. Imagine for a minute there is no real loot just "salvage" and a special salvage skill and ship would be required to recover the items.
I know there are few corps out there who would probably gear toward salvage (I believe Haratu of Shiny Stuff Salvagers is one). It would open a new career path and provide some variety.
Imagine for a minute a fleet made a kill, then waited for the salvage ships to arrive, imagine independent salvagemen running around in salvage ships looking for wreckage after battles.
They'd hang out in the map "blob" systems with 100 kills in an hour. Potential new targets for any PvP player and the opportunity for someone to make some good isk (say you'd salvage what you would on a refine of a ship - about 50%).
A salvage ship could have a 20k max speed, large hold and other similar attributes. You'd need "Salvage" skill (from Mechanic 5), "Towing" skill (from Navigation 5) to use the ship. You'd also need a special "Torque Afterburner" (from Afterburner 5) to generate the power to tow the wreck.
Excellent idea. Leave insurance as it is but the salvageman job is a great idea. I really like it.

Blablabla - i donŠt want to get more ISK. I have enough to kamikaze-die 100 x. I want a better game, less mining, more pvp-players, more people in 0.0 and more fun overall. Guys that donŠt like towing wrecks want mining mining mining - you guys are adicted to mining. Everybody says he is not a miner - but how comes that all the minerals that are needed to built ships are always there in suffiiant amount, hm??? The NPCs dont sell enough to cover all the destruction player-pirates and NPCs-rats do. You guys mine all this $hit minerals and you are so adicted to it that your brains are shutdown and you dont see when a good idea is posted. With wreck towing you have have a nice source of minerals and you donŠt need to mine all day. But you probably have to fight for the wreck if its a BS-wreck worth 60 mil ISK. But no - you want free ISK and your macro running - bah!

of all the junk I have seen you post(Travel Safe) I think this post is one of your better ones. I like your idea. I think it would be nice to be able to haul away wrecks for mins..
But with this comes something else.. The chance to kill a TDG supply line..
I would kill for the chance to catch you in a small slow ship rather than the small fast ones you are in when I have crossed paths with you and your goons..

"sorry, you got scammed, BC producing doesnt cost more then 22-24mio isk"
Sadly, the cheapest Ferox i saw on the market was costing 32 mil minus few isk, (and i checked few regions in search of one...) the average seems to be ~34-35 mil. Guess the producers want to make some profit on the new ship class before price wars start. ^^;;
re: the original idea, i like it. dunnoo how it'd work out in systems where there's lot of fighting going on, all the wrecks would probably lag the things badly. ^^;

although I dont agree with your reasons for wanting this I do agree with the idear
however instead of making a new ship class use the existing scavenger ships (cruiser and frigate) either by towing the remains back to a station or by (yeah I know) mining the wreckage also my feeling on this would be that the wrecks should stay in space untill removed so that old battle fields (and new) would be littered with parts and bits of ships
Thank You Paw Sandberg

Salvaging wrecks is a good ideal, requiring salvage tow ships or tractor beam modules is a bad one. It's getting to the point in this game where you can't even wipe your own ass with out some help.
Me and many others would like to sometimes do things on our own not needing a freaking fleet to wipe our noses. Do you know how hard and impractical it is to get a single pilot to go with you deep inside hostile territory... I don't want to camp gates connecting Empire to .0 space with a bunch of other equally bored pilots pretending to have fun.
What are you going to do? I'm going to kill them all sir |

I don't have the time to raise the isk required to fly and lose ships without 100% or near 100% insurance... I lose ships in PvP almost everytime, no way I can afford to not have insurance cover the bulk of the loss. I'd have to stop PvP'ing...
Or learn how to play the game.

And Lifewire is stating that flying Tech 1 ships with tech 1 gear lets the pilot fight fairly effectively with next to zero risk. Haven't played for a few weeks cause I'm just fed up with how boring Eve has become, and that exodus and its POS havent changed a god damn thing.
Quote: Shipwrecks would be cool, and I do like the idea of getting mins from them, but how does borking insurance and adding this feature help the one who lost the ship???
Why should the spoils go to the loser? He's not even advocating zero insurance, just a slightly reduced payout. The spoils would go to whoever maintains control of the battle area for a long while after the fight has taken place, "mindless ganking" then running wouldn't yield him anything.
I think it would be great, as long as you can destroy wrecks of ships with guns as well, to prevent the enemy from mining his ship back, or to reduce lag after a large battle if another is likely to take place

Very good idea... so long as it was balanced enough that people couldnt profit from selfdestructing (ie insurance payout is reduced, salvagable materials are somewhat minimal but worthwhile)
On a side note, how about insurance companies start actually making some profit (isk sink) instead of handing out so much isk to those who cant seem to stop dying. |
