Everybody knows it: mining is boring - itŠs soooooooooo boring that people programmed macros or forced CCP to have a safe empire where they can mine AFK in an indy.
Everybody knows it: the insurance makes it very easy for all. Actually i donŠt understand why people feel fear when they go into battle - if you donŠt use named stuff you donŠt loose much ISK when shot down.
Now mix these 2 things and see this ->
Why not reducing insurances but have refinable shipwrecks that can be towed away (very slow: 20 m/s). A new shipclass, the towing ships needed too. Also a tractorbeam-module. So if for example somebody sinks a BS of an enemy corp, they can try to get the minerals of the shipwreck by towing it to the next refinery station. The looser corp has a chance to gain the minerals back too if they act quick. Overall people have more time to pvp instead of going mining (with or without macro).
Ok...i am ready to hear the whining and that insurances must stay! Addicted to mining - bah! Fight for minerals! Much better than starring at roids for hours!

I still have not purchased an Inty because the insurance is crap, so the above statement is equally crap...
I don't have the time to raise the isk required to fly and lose ships without 100% or near 100% insurance... I lose ships in PvP almost everytime, no way I can afford to not have insurance cover the bulk of the loss. I'd have to stop PvP'ing...
Why are you whining? The insurance you are complianing about only applies to tech I ships, and will go by the wayside as more & more Tech II ships are released & manufactured...

I think you're smoking something pretty good there buddy if you don't think mineral aquisition through mining is a requirement to keep the EVE economy going.
If you want to go PvP 100% of the time, no one is stopping you. No need to try and make mineral aquisition a form of PvP just because mining bores you...
Shipwrecks would be cool, and I do like the idea of getting mins from them, but how does borking insurance and adding this feature help the one who lost the ship???
The ones who blew up the ship will get those mins most of the time... Your logic is illogical... ------------------------------------------------ "for piece sakes!" |

Insurance isn't high enough for tech II ships, cormorant insurance pays out roughly 850K at 100%
Which PA character are you?

I second that... Cormorants go for 1.3 to 1.6 mil on the markets from what I've seen and spent _________________________________________ Ask not what your country can do for you. Don't ask what you can do for your country, either. Start asking what your country is doing TO you. |

deffinately smoking somthing, without a doubt nobody forced CCP to have a safe empire the implementation of a newbie safe area is fundemental to the design of any PvP massively multiplayer game __________________________________________

He is not saying that they should take out mining, but that you could get minerals from ship wrecks (It would need to be limited probably a third of ship cost)

The wrecks are a good idea, screwing insurance is not. As several people have already said a lot of pvp is reliant on having 100% insurance...even then its often too expensive for all but those in mega-corps. _________________ [SAK] And Proud Of It! aka Cpt Bogus Is that my torped sig cloaking your base? |

I like the idea of you jumping off a cliff better. Please stop posting new retarded ideas (that is hardly thought trough) about miners. No need to punishes miners more nor people who don't want to fight.

Adding these shipwrecks, while decreasing insurance will not embolden those already fearfull of loss to risk even more...
If CCP inplemented what he proposes:
1) Insurance has less payout, more ppl will fear PvP. 2) Pirates can now get a large chunk of minerals from destroying your ship. This will only make more people avoid PvP, not only do they not want to lose their ship, they sure as hell don't want pirates getting "their" minerals! They mined the minerals to build that ship, they will be less likely to risk them, less PvP...
Yes, his logic is illogical...

Insurance and minerals of the wreck doesnt work - people would produce ship, insure and destroy it themselves and have double amount of ISK.
I knew the cry-list will get long but 8 crying guys/hour is hard
You guys have the choice: you can go mining for hours or you can go and sink somebody elses ship and tow the wreck away. Sorry - but i love the idea! But a real carebear probably canŠt love it

i had a ferox.
i built the ferox.
insurance payout was 24mil.
i didnt have enough minerals to make a new ferox.
to buy a new one costs 35-50mil
insurance needs to be fixed, like the ability to insure the ship to whatever payout you want.
example
i pay 40mil for a payout of 80mil
or
im lazy and only pay 35mil for a payout of 72mil ----------------------------------------------- Linkage |
