I would rather CCP takes their time and gets it right the first time than to rush it and have the system crash/maybe multiple times. They are running the diagnostics. Give them a chance. Changes like this can cause so many bugs to pop up. And i bet they are none-too-happy with how things are working out right now. They have their entire company working on this now, and all available coders are working to get this up and running. Headaches like this is not something they are working towards. |

EVE Online: Tyrannis is still being deployed and our Quality Assurance department is running further testing. This is likely to continue beyond our original schedule and we will have an update for you at 18:00 UTC. We thank you for your continued patience.
Wonder if the staff get paid on time or if they should get paid for doing such a good job. |

I had some hopes that this expansion deployment will be over sooner than expected, but i may be wrong. Anyway, i'll eat something and spam refresh
One SERIOUS question. Why / cant they run Singularity independently from the rest of the Eve-something stuff, they would shut alot of mouths if we were able to spin ships on Sisi |

"The widescreen option under Display & Graphics in the ESC window has been permanently removed. This change is necessary to fix several issues with the new cameras."
So does this mean everything must be played in full screen without the option of using dual monitors?
All the "widescreen" option every really did is add that boxed look. (Black above and below the main viewing area, just like "widescreen" movies)
Yeah... no lose.

I just HATE it when people who have no life blame others for the choices they make (like staying in waiting for eve to come up) rather than owning up to their own bad choices.
I bet you still blame your parents for anything bad that happens in your life. |

No, you are wrong. GMT does NOT change at all for daylight saving time. When the times change, Britain moves to BST (British Summer Time) instead of GMT. GMT stays the same all year...
While correct, this is a truism, and meaningless. It's like saying that all red things are red. NO time zone changes, when put this way. EST is always EST, even when the areas that use it switch to EDT. BST is also BST even when Britain switches to GMT.
The point is, all time zones, even GMT, are based on UTC. GMT is defined as UTC+0. The fact that this GMT +/- nonsense ever gained a foothold is just an absurd anachronism. UTC replaced GMT as the baseline time almost 40 years ago.
Any application or database developer that wants to do things right, does them with UTC, because if you do use GMT and the system is located somewhere that observes daylight saving time, it will switch to BST and cause all kinds of mayhem.
GMT may be more commonly used, but UTC is preferable.
GMT is the average solar time at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. UTC is an atomic time standard designed to be synchronized with GMT. They will not differ by any temporal interval that is likely to matter in your daily life, but they are NOT the same thing.
well you can say this much more simpler ... GMT was the first and only worldwide used time-standard. UTC is just born out of americany jelousy that they dont invented this standard |

tip for those who are having trouble getting the patch:
If you downloaded the test server recently your auto download directory has been changed to your test server directory, which messes up the patch server. The work around is to manually download the patch from here -http://content.eveonline.com/evepremiumpatch127381-154366_m.exe to your desktop, then when you install to change the directory back to the eve one, usually program files (x86)/CCP/eve for xp.
good luck |

"We apologize for the delay but expansion is still currently being deployed and has exceeded the schedule we set."
Really? Wow I am not at all surprised by this, I am however surprised at the schedules. If you say it will take you 0200 to 1800 please be sure to account for delay time and include into future timetabels that way when you say it will take 0200 to 2000 we will get on and wow its up then. Be conservative with times. I'm not going to be too big a nag sense we really want get to use this expansion till June 8th which is btw a crock of ****; but CCP please for the love of all things......learn to use different various approaches to deployment. We have had months of time on test server to work out bugs. For those of you who wish to flame me about Tq being different from SISI cuz of population please shutup because the server isnt even up and they are checking bugs. Quality Control should have been done on sisi. When you say FINAL deployment it should mean you have ALL the bugs worked out and are ready to deploy and start the servers NOT deploy and do last minute testing. If you can't get enough people on sisi to test then shut TQ down for a day and MAKE them. But the customer shouldn't have to do QC for you guys thats your job and what we pay you for. So do it ahead of time on test server which is where it should be. IF bugs do slip by we can collect info and do a small patch but scanning every line of code before the expansion is deployed is NOT quality control. Scanning those same lines of code a day before release IS. Final means final. |
