This EVE gate thing really does not excite me one bit, if they opened up a few more API services 3rd party developers would have been able to do that anyway. Planetary interaction is going to swallow up so much CCP development time, it's not funny. EVE is set in space, lets not forget that during development sprints. Something that needs addressing is the bounty system, well here's a thought: It should be possible to put a bounty on anyone's head via contracts by transferring kill rights to another player that if successful are nulled, or if it's low sec/null sec I guess kill rights don't matter anyway. This would open up the mercenary side of EVE, and would be a nice feature for PvP as roaming gangs would finally be able to make a living taking care of griefers and the like. Some UI improvements with the scanning system would be good, like being able to have multiple groups probes. So that groups can be moved together or maybe even allowing the formation to be saved, so that next time, dump probes, click a formation and they arrange themselves in space ready to scan stuff - much easier. I'd like to see a dedicated salvager ship, and why can't hacking modules "hack" other peoples anchored cans in space? I'd love to steal things considered locked up and safe in the belts. Something to address corporate theft would also be great, lets extend the employment history to optionally allow a CEO to leave a twitter length comment when that member leaves the corp. That way, you can leave something negative to warn other CEOs about that the character is a thief, or the best damn pilot you've ever known. These are just a few ideas as a player and a developer I see as quick fixes, that would open up a few new aspects in this game and cheer a bunch of folks up. Any thoughts people?

If it does require another patch, CCP will have a smaller increment patch to go alongside the earlier patch.

Having been one of the Many who suffered after the (Unholy) Trinity expansion was deployed (and I was one of the luckier ones), I tend to leave my updating until a couple of hours after deployment, just to be Safe. But you can clearly see 90% of the eve population really isn't to happy with this so called expansion. Hell no Erika Strada isn't happy with it. I have spent alot of money for this game, as have everyone else playing eve. To see this crap called an expansion get released? You can keep kissing there ass's all you want. but I will speak how I feel on this. I want eve to be better. Not fall in the slums and become the next new age Facebook.

On the time 1. Open EveMon, or even better, EveHQ and look at the server time at the bottom of the window. Mine says 16.21 right now so about 1 hour, 40 minutes to wait. While I could certainly spend a bunch of time ranting about timezones (which anyone who gets out of their own home town masters pretty quickly) or even time figuring out the offset from my own zone, I can just look at my support programs and satisfy my curiousity that way. What happens then 2. At that time openning your old client will give you instructions on what to do next. Possibly (probably) the downtime will be extended. If not, there will be instructions on how to update. We certainly can't expect people who've master ship fitting or invention to sort out how to update software or figure out what time it is in a fixed server location. 3. Given that the Tyrannis test server required a full download of the new client, if the update is patch form it will be roughly "new client-ish" in size. Update content 4. Yes, the update will not have the things/fixes that you personally want. However, did you personally provide the developers with useful feature requests/bug info in the form of petitions and constructive forum posts? Or, did you only make your wishes known through the type of quality discourse we can see in the previous 33 pages of this thread.
