i think pal, from the players i have been talking too they are more ****ed off at how wimpy this game is becoming rather then the code or the long down times.
no fighting in empire anymore, cant declare war on a corp, if they are a member of a alliance. yet its ok for them too get in the way of my game, team ganking me trying too get too my rat fields. yet i cant return the faver in empire too them.
the war system sucks flat out. thats why im leaving when my times up in a month.
no real gammer would game under these rules that flat out faver alliances too well and crushes anyother types of players.
i dont play wimp games like this.
i dont know what kind of dev's or gm's they gpt in this game but they are pushing alliances way over board on us.
lucky for me i have a pal whos a beta tester fpr WoW. ill be getting my number soon.. See yeas all in wow.. :)
where i can pick a fight farly and with whom i chose.

Edited by: Drutort on 07/12/2004 19:15:11 of course its not like in beta, but that doesnt matter i played beta in other mmo and there retail is like 10x worse... plus not to mention the beta in the other mmo was abysmal...
ccp is doing a good job and is unique in many ways. support Idea: QuickInfo an alternative to ShowInfo

Ive been on EVE for about 5 months now and the customer support sucks, the lag sucks and the responce times suck. Only thing that I have noticed about CCP in the community is that they DO listen to the players most of the time. Where as DAOC doesn't. I think that is mainly do to EVE being a smaller community than DAOC though. For all I know DAOC does listen to the community but being it's so HUGE, that im not seeing the people who are getting stuff they posted listen too.
It still gets me how much most of you are this stupid but oh well that's how it goes. Don't diss other MMOG's or even try to compare when EVE is like this right now. EVE is a much better game than most but that's when the game is moving smoothly. I HAVE NEVER SEEN DAOC or any other MMOG just stop maintaining the game or IGNORING THE PLAYERS. Being you have no clue or idea if other MMOG are REALLY ignoring the communities.
EVE Customer Support - 3 DAOC Customer Support - 8 EVE Game Lag - 2 DAOC Game Lag - 9 EVE Gameplay - 10 DAOC Gameplay - 7
Did I forget to mention that I have never seen a DAOC or Everquest sever crash? As well crash within 1 hour of each other? Did I forget to mention that I have never seen this much lag on a MMOG till I came to EVE? Also forgot to mention I have never seen so many people complain about how the MMOG was running (Server/Network/Lag) wise till I came to the EVE community. Everywhere else it's game imp features never customer support or server/networking/lag. Sorry to burst your bubble there friend.

Heh. Seriously though. You're right. Everyone who played other MMOGs knows, and the others won't believe it. It's amazing (or rather... saddening?) how many good games get destroyed due to bad support/idiotic staff. I'm helluva glad that EVE isn't one of those.
I tried around ten or more other MMOGs (free trails, that is). And I never even saw a trce of an actual Developer anywhere. The only games with decent staff tend to be private projects for free or *counotreallylegalfanserversgh*. Aside from Eve that is. I think thats cool. (Besides Eve happens to be the first MMOG that ever got me to pay for it. I think that means something.9

Edited by: Aion Amarra on 07/12/2004 21:50:57 Famine: I dont know what you got against the forums. They always respond in 1-2 seconds for me, doing anything. Perhaps you'rejust sitting in some far off location nearer to the DAoC Servers?
EVEs Customersupport doesn't suck. To me it just seems like they haven't got enough people. =/
OffbeaT: Well if you don't like how almost all of the players are playing the game/how the game is layed out switch to another game. Just because you don't like the way the game is played that doesn't mean it's bad.
And I'm no 'IRC Roleplayer', nor is anyone else in my corp. ...?
And wtf is 'they arnt real gammers most of them here' supposed to mean...? Sheesh, go play CS or something.

The fact that they release their expansions free of charge wins me over. I couldn't believe all the *****ing about Bit Torrent on patch day. Download a free patch during downtime or go to the store and pay $25 for a cd in a card board box... I know which one I prefer!
Signed.... CCP devs are great (not perfect)

Indeed. CCP are always on the cusp of suffering the fate of early adopters everywhere: martyrdom.
They are pushing the envelope everytime the encourage a non-traditional, cognitively demanding feature in the game. As a result, their coding and game features' planning doesn't just get hit with the ugly stick, it often gets hit with every branch of the tree as the server crashes.
That doesn't stop me from " complaining " of course. But I've sacrificed lots of hardware to be here today and intend to sacrifice large quantities of time in the future. Thus I take the liberty to inflict my observations and opinions at every opportunity. Social criticism has its place so long as it is coupled with reasonable suggestions and sound justification descended from a critical sense of empathy.
But in general day to day activities, the best thing is still to respond to whatever incentives are coded in the game, no matter how much the erudite community protests the actions.

Why exactly are you playing such a 'wussy game' if it's so damn 'wussy'? Go play your Everquest, DAOC, or Worlds of Warcraft (which I was in the beta for, whew it was shtank)]
I don't understand why people would ***** about a game in a forum where you have to be a member of that gameto even post! it just doesn't make sense to me.
