Anyone have any suggestions on good low slot modules for a Covetor?

Ships & Modules forum is probably a better place to ask.

depends on your power grid skills. Train up mining upgrades and put a couple named Mining Laser Upgrades, if you can. Or put Mining Laser Upgrade 1's. You don't really need anything other then that except maybe for special situations. Cargo Expanders might be called for if you don't feel safe jetcanning and have no orca support.
Hope that helps.

Only 1 Mining Laser Upgrade will fit. Hulk fits 2.
The second slot can be whatever you like.

If you are not mining with a hauler and have to fly back to station every time you fill up, then the clear winner is 2 cargo expanders.

My advice: sell that barge and fit a Drake to go solo class 3 wormholes.
I'm not joking.

Fit a passive drake and go speed run level 3 missions, yo.

This is probably the worse time in the history of the game to train mining. The insurance patch is about to hit the game.
Train rupture with 220mm acs and assault launchers for level 2 missions then move onto drake for level 3 and 4 missions as your skills are ready.

Edited by: Alain Kinsella on 24/05/2010 20:14:54 Agreeing with the above three posts - and I'm an Exhumer pilot. *sigh*
Working with a Harby on another char right now. Getting better money doing L3 than even Empire ice mining (with the added plus of almost perfect refine on one corp soon).
If you have access to 0.0, that may be different (in particular the Null ice ores). But for now, hang onto missions for a couple months and let the mineral costs settle out.

PS - I'm in it for the *long* haul at this point (Orca and Rorqal) since I can use Mack and Skiff, as well as ABC ore crystals and Ice Refining. If you're just starting out, hit the Leadership tree for now; It'll be useful in all professions so there's no waste in training.

Fixed that for you.

MLU if you have a hauler, cargohold expanders if you don't.
I have 4 accounts for mining: Rorqual/Orca + Bustard + 2x Hulks. No matter what happens to the market after patch day, I'll keep mining as I enjoy it for some strange reason.
Don't do anything in EVE unless you enjoy doing it. There are always alternatives.

Making the quote 50% wrong isn't a fix.

Alenovar, ^ that ^ is why you should stop mining now. There are tons of ppl like this, who will continue to mine even as the mineral markets collapse. For the first time ever, miners will be competing with one another for their place in the market, instead of being supported by insurance fraud.
This will be PVP MiningÖ, and the slaughter will be horrifying. lol?

As thebarry's trademark manager; we demand that anybody that uses "PVP MiningÖ" to send a sum of 1 billion or face severe consequences.

mining is literally terrible and anyone who isn't using like 15 accounts to mine is just wasting their time!

Even then, you could be putting those 15 accounts to far better use. At this point in time (pre-Tyrranis) mining income is amongst the (if not the) lowest in the game.

Edited by: Sahola Elva on 26/05/2010 12:09:06 Mining will continue to be screwed while nothing is done about the bots. If I remember there was a purge on accounts that were deemed bots. Seems a waste of sub money for ccp as well as depriving us of potential loot.
Instead of a purge like that why not flag the offending character as outlaw? Open season on it, if concord don't get the bot we do and the loot as well. THAT will upset the bot owners and allow the real miners a chance to make a half-decent living. Hulk manufacturing would be worth getting into, all those bots needing new ones.
At the very least the entertainment would be mint.

I recently bought my Covetor, and calculated which modules would give me the most m3/hr. Go with Cargo Expanders.
If you find someone with an Orca/Hauler, then you can put a Mining Upgrade in.
Do not bother with Giant Secure Containers. You will still move more m3/hr using a rubber band route.
Upgrade your rigs for cargo as well as fast as you can.
