I was thinking it would be cool if customs offices were like mini-trade hubs and the players could put up buy/sell orders for products that are used in PI.

I thought this would be nice and all, actually, though it occurred to me immediately there are probably balance issues I'm not seeing.
That said, PI has it's own development team, and might very well get such a feature in the future as the developers watch how it's used and the sort of functionality it needs.
So.. yeah, for now, supported in lieu of reason not to.

Simple, and brilliant.
It would allow players to make facilities made for manufacturing goods without having to have their own mining colonies/have to buy them off the market every now and then (Pretty much paying someone to do that for them)

Are you suggesting that people could create these hubs anywhere in space to sell the goods?
Can you not move these goods to market hubs already in space?
Why create market hubs in every system when we already have a system in place to sell goods?

*No people would not create any hubs. They would be able to place buy/sell orders on the customs offices of a planet ( within the current m3 limit).Maybe set up a highest buy price or lowest sell price limit. *It would make it easier to manage planets. *Maybe some capsulers decide to go around buying/selling from/to every customs office in a system/constellation at lower or higher prices, making a nice profit.

In light of your response, I'd say absolutely no.
Logistics needs to be part of your supply chain.

What's wrong with paying someone to do your logistics for you? It's basically like mini courier missions.
