The best result will never be achieved by elections, only a small segment of the people are smart enough and can take good decisions, but the majority will decide the result. The alternative can be to let only people that proved their value vote. RL is a good example of this too.

Yea i noticed those ugly yellow things protruding from her mouth. Too bad i was eating at the time. Bye bye breakfast.
Seriously guys? This game is supposed to be filled with a mature playerbase. Yet, with comments such as this guys' you are all just showing how immature and childish you really are. Maybe come up with a valid, decently put-together argument against her and leave out the stooping to comments about her appearance... Pathetic.
She's everything wrong with the Eve playerbase. She's a carebear. And it's been proven through logs that she isn't the kind that keep it cool and together after something bad happens, she is the kind that foams at the mouth and says things that cross the line to other players concerning personal information in a malicious and barbed manner.
I dunno. I'm going to let her have her 15 minutes of fame. As I said before, all ideas she brings up to the board are going to be shot down due to their blantant disregard to any PVP pilots ability to play the game on how it should be played.

lol these Ankh threads are so full of fail, you guys are as bad as the EVE is dying guys. One persons view on the CMS doesn't mean much by itself, thats why there are another 8 delegates to discuss the various topics brought up by the community (who are all from different backgrounds themselves). Regardless, at the end of the day CCP may or may not choose to take any of these ideas brought up on board ...it is their vision after all.
Ps - if a person bothers you this much to whine about it on the forums go after them yourselves, trust me it's much more rewarding.
In fact come to think of it this thread makes no sense at all lol...PvP'ers putting up bounties to kill a PvE'er ...tell me again why you can't kill this person yourself if you are a PvP'er?

Thanks folks, you guys have totally awakened the inner griefer in me. From now on instead of voting for someone I kind of agree with for CSM, I'm voting for Ankehdjskhfgqpah until she gets bored of running.
I really like these posts, it gives me something to link when someone starts spouting out some bull**** about how Eve players are more mature. ****ing pathetic. Please ensure your signature is within the allowed size of 400 x 120 pixels with a maximum file size of 24,000 bytes. Navigator |

need a tissue? She won, get over it. If somehow she manages to do something game breaking to pvp through the CSM (lol yeah right) vote with your wallet like I will. Unless something as unlikely as that happens take a look at the history of the CSM breath a sigh of relief and try to act like a grown man, woman, tranny whatever. Stop feeding the trolls. This is not a thread to discuss EVE politics. This is not a thread to discuss the maturity of the EVE playerbase. This is not a thread to discuss the proper ways to react to a space-election. This is a thread taking out a mercenary contract on a target.

Hi, this is Eve. A PVP game. You're on the crime and punishment forums. BTW, you're speaking of maturity, while offering me a "tissue" when I'm not even complaining. You sir are an idiot.
Carebear land is over that rainbow ---->
And she's not really winning if she can't leave a station without fear of total annihilation now is she? It's okay. You can be mad.

Seems perfectly valid to me. Not that I agree though. To quote another philosopher's POV,
"The only purpose for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilized community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others. His own good, either physical or moral, is not sufficient warrant. Saving the exceptions only of the macro miner, or the irretrievable carebear, that may be wtfpwned for lols and the common weal." John Stuart Mill, On Liberty (for Minmatars)
To second the good Captain, Internet spaceships is indeed serious metaphysical business, and I think it's about time Edmund Burke's vision was lifted from minor issues like American independence and applied to something of real substance. Another indication of how Ankh's supporters are people of perspective who keep things in proportion. Can we make her Eve el-Presidente for Life?

Sheesh... let's just quote spiderman here.... great power - great responsibility. Let me just suggest that perhaps flying an internet spaceship doesn't constitute "great power"... food for thought there.
Do you think maybe... JUST MAYBE a competitive game is not quite what these philosophers are talking about? The fact that the teams are subject to change, the rules are subject to change, and everything is less clearly delineated than in some games, doesn't alter the fact that this is a competitive game. Some people win, some people lose.
We might as well start talking about immoral cruelty implicit in a game of baseball.

TBH, while I did quote you, I'm more speaking to the topic in general. There's plenty of dudes in eve who do take this kinda stuff very seriously.

It is a real delight reading thoughtful posts in this thread quoting JS Mill, as well as making good faith arguments. Thank you!
While I have discussed this elsewhere on these forums, this is not the thread to talk about the ethics of EVE. I am writing something up on this for Jita Park, however, and will let you know when its posted. Your considered thoughts will be welcomed.
In the meantime, please allow me to simply quote from the Friends of Eve FAQ.
'Why does Delilah continue to ask pirates to switch sides? Many pirates are people of honour. They came to EVE when it was little more than a pvp game. EVE has changed, however, in ways that some pirates have not yet grasped. It is now a virtual universe where pvp has an indispensable place, but where others choose to build a virtual life that is not based on the exploitation of others. Understanding this entails both a moral and practical shift in perspective, and this insight takes time to develop.'
Something for pirates and non-pirates of good faith to think about.

Edited by: Ekon Bor on 04/06/2010 06:43:27 Delilah does appear to be slightly mad... but even if you are for some crazy reason, anti-pirate, you can still object to Ankh on general principles. Ran Khannon posted a video in the C&P channel from which one can deduce two salient facts. One, she's actually technically a politician, given she's running for a seat in Dutch Parliament (as someone else has also mentioned). Two, when she talks, it sounds like someone is molesting a goose. Those sound sufficent reasons to take out a bounty on someone for me. The whole anti-piracy thing is just gravy.
