/me is waiting on the reports that evegate is a huge success.
*over 250.000 accounts logged into evegate in 48 hours showing why we left it on opt in so everyone has to change it so we can say everyone wants it because they all logged in en masse*
Anyways, who at CCP makes all the decisions about everything that gets made and put into the client for release? Is it a blind man perhaps? Or a single person with an IQ of about 25? Or is it perhaps not the company directors and such who i suspect have a collective IQ higher than 1000, but the stakeholders who just have big wallets and small brains? Is it really that hard to say no to the *we want to do an expansion per 6 months even if it is full of fail, bugs, half done things, useless crap and everything else* ? Are you really that daft to notice that every expansion is getting less and less support from your customers but you still decide to waste developer time on things that are not important enough for immediate release and put things that are important into the fridge?
Stop for a minute, think for a second, dig back into that feeling that you had when you first started out developping eve and what you wanted to achieve with it... Does the heap of broken and unbalanced things resemble anything you dreamt of? Does the heap of backlog things to do and things we actually wanted to do earlier but can't because our stakeholders want to keep pushing out new stuff instead of fixing the old stuff resemble anything you dreamt of? Sure the game is pretty and has no competitors and keeps growing and growing and such, but hasn't that made you all lazy in regards to things introduced but never finished? Do you want to keep building upon heaps of code that will be unbalanced with every new line of code that gets added to it so it turns into a whole big bunch of trees instead of a nice and calming forrest with bells and whistles on top? Do you not see that adding half done things will need to be fixed, while other things previously added need fixing still, but both are not fixed because new stuff needs to be made and invented that will be put out not completed, so that needs fixing after deployment too?
That said, i don't really have a prob with the latest expansion, just a casual player. I'm just trying to voice some reasonable output of all the (rightly so!) whines. However, if it is really stakeholders calling all the shots tell us, i'm sure we all would buy them out of their ignorant and not-even-interested-in-eve-only-return-on-investment existance and put you back on the right track... Just tell us... ___________
