Is this the random crying thread? OK, here's MY uber beef about Tyrannis:
I went to refine some ore like I always do and some of the bits of ore weren't enough for a batch and the interface rudely interjected and told me so instead of just silently skipping the bits that didn't constitute a full batch like it used to.
Good Going CCP. Was thinking of renewing my sub after this was done, thing i'll just pass now.

Well in a way minerals from missions were free, same as mineral from asteroid. Btw, this nerf will not put more mineral on market all it's going to do is drop it by half. What gets seeded on market mainly comes from high-sec, a good chunk from miners and rest from missioner/ratter that recycle there crap (which they can't do anymore). The problem really is ya miner will make more money, the only issue is most belts are dry within hours of them coming back up. So really there won't be an increase of mineral coming from miners.
So where do you expect those extra mins are going to come from? 0.0? they need everything they need up there. And i'm willing to bet at least in alliance I've been in most of the minerals where coming from people ratting. Now i might be wrong ratting might not be affected by this, and if it's not i might just go back doing that.
Oh, and how is this a buff to mission. your still getting same amount of money from missions and LP as before. you just get 40-60% less loot. Unless you really like salvaging scrap metal.
Sure i can run more missions and offset the money i loose from the stuff i'm not salvaging anymore, but at the end of the day i'll still be out of pocket 20-30% of what i was making simply because i'll have to spend hours moving minerals i need and pay more for same minerals that i did before.
So ya i wouldn't have minded so much if CCP had waited two freaking week to deploy this crappy expansion so i could offset that 20-30% loss from planet interaction. 20-30% loss for me in two weeks roughly means 300-600m lost. I don't have 40m sp so 300-600m is still not pocket change.

If you run missions properly (blitzing them) this won't affect your income. LP rewards > loot/salvage. Of course judging by the content of your posts you probably don't know how to properly run missions...

go outside and get some fresh air or something. read a book, plant a garden, or chase a large metal ring down the street with a stick. if you are going to cry about your in-game income being cut by some amount you should really rethink your priorities in life. in 3 weeks you'll completely forget that you had to wait two weeks.

Minerals from asteroids are not "free" anymore than bounties you collect killing rats is "free" money or the module you collect after killing someone in PvP is a "free" module.
It is called "opportunity costs". Look it up.
And if you were selling 300-600m in minerals from missions per week then you should be the poster child for exactly why this change was needed.

May want to take a closer look at some of the mission drops. I had 4 meta mwd's drop in just 2 missions. That is equel to the amount of meta 4 mwd's I have since drop in 2 years.
Give it a few weeks before commenting on how the changes will affect the economy. But despite the change of what I loot, my income has so far increased. Others may be loosing, the economy is going through a forced change. Best thing to do is just sit it out and maybe jump the planetary interaction bandwagon to ease the pain. I consider the missing pleasure hub interior a bug.. even if it is not. Please fix it. :P |

i'm not so sure mineral prices will go up, don't forget there is a new source of minerals called Wormhole space, which can be used to transfer massive amounts of high end minerals in a single jump to empire. So changes to mission runner minerals will have no impact.

Wh space minerals has been on the market for over a year. They're not really "new" are they?
