I just got the mission too. Any chance you might share some more information on it? Don't like the idea of warping into it absolutely unprepared...

If you can't finish L4s don't try this alone. Get someone who can as backup.
No, I'm not kidding.

Was going to edit my post with more details but it seems to not want to let me. So, here we go.
First pocket you'll be facing something like 6-10 375k bounty Gist battleships with light escorts. I have a fully-T2 Drake and I could handle agro reasonably. Second pocket, you'll meet 3 750k battleships with elite light escorts. After some time, something like 6 more battleships will arrive with more elite light escorts and some elite cruisers, and Overlord <Some name I forget> (a Domination commander). This room I had to run around a lot, but I managed to survive full room agro.
Reward is a +5 implant. (yes, the ones that sell for 100+mil). Bonus is some crappy 3% implant. Domination commander drops faction, but only dropped ammo when I killed him.

On top of that, in the second pocket are several scrambling frigs. I noticed a bit late, so at one point I warped out with just under 10% shield left on my passive drake That's also the point where I decided to call it for the night, I'll probably go back in my CNR tonight to clean it up (provided the mission doesn't get stealth 'fixed' today )

I don't see how they could 'fix' it anymore, unless maybe it gives you 2 +5 implants for an L2 storyline. >.>

I got the level 2 version which had about 7mil bounty in the first pocket and another 10mil in the second.. Wonder if that scales up for the level 3 one

Edited by: Mr Kidd on 27/05/2010 15:01:29 I see I'm not the only one with questions about this mission.
I'm currently grinding Caldari Navy to get to L4's. I've got 15mil SP so tanking l4's is not a problem. But since I can only do up to L3's for Caldari Navy then why is it giving me a mission with 5 BS's? This is the equivalent of a L4. I didn't stick around long enough to see if the frigates web/scram. I was not flying anything capable of tanking such a mission. My sympathies to the noobs trying to figure out how to do this one.
There is no entry on Eve-survival.org for this mission.

My previous response was in jest. My serious guess is that this mission is supposed to be an L4 storyline only (maybe even L5, it probably ranks among the easier L5's in difficulty; the implant reward does seem to support this theory) and CCP borked something with the assignment of these missions while they were ensuring it was 'working as intended' so it's getting offered as lower level storylines as well.

I believe this mission to be a level 5 storyline becuase 1) it gives a +5 implant and 2) it's harder than a level 4. Both times i have done it, ut's had a 6-7m bounty domination battleship in, that drops a Halo implant. (Alpha both times, but probably random).
Odd thing is it's being given to LEVEL 1 AND LEVEL 2 mission runners
I've got into it because i've bene helping them out. There's no way they can complete it.
So I guess I'll go run level 1-2 minmatar missions now. A +5 (120 million) a Halo (70 million) and 40m of bounty sounds tempting.

I don't know if this is a level 5 mission or at least not a l5 I've ever seen though I've only done a couple. It would be similar to an l5 in the fact that you're immediately aggroed by all spawned ships and there are subsequent spawns afterward. The l5's I've been on seem to have a lot more ships though. However, I don't believe it to be a hisec level 4 either. I lost a BS to this mission. I tank hisec l4's all day. My T2 drones hardly dented the frigates. Got a friend in a Tengu to help try to complete the mission. We're still in the process. However, I did come in with a salvager. Although he had aggro from all the npc, I also received aggro. No, there is something weird about this mission. It's sort of like sleepers. Since I've never done a lowsec or nullsec l4 I can't say for sure. But I do know this is not a hisec l4. If it is a hisec l4 we're all in a bunch of trouble because these npc killed my BS from 100km out.

The sec level makes no real difference to what you get inside the mission, only the reward.
Some null sec agents have a different mission pool e.g. anti-Concord missions.
It's standard practice for a level 5 storyline to give a +5 implant.
My Tengu (tech 2 fit, no faction) can tank the last pocket by virtue of orbiting the asteroid base at 70km with the afterburner on. The range means I don't even need to run the shield booster. Only the domination guy can get close enough to hit, and he has trouble vs the small sig size of the Tengu. Then I just lockon with scourge fury heavy missiles and take the NPCs down.
With a Navy Raven I would head away from the guys, set drones on the scram frigates and knock out the domination guy first as he hits really hard and doesn't have that much of a tank.
With a Torp Golem I would just faction tank it, lock on and fire. I'd drop from 3 target painters to 2, however, for an extra shield resist, due to the high incoming DPS. I might change from the usual 600-dps tank fit using a faction medium booster to a 1k+ tank highly unstable capacitor fit using an XL booster.
This is why I use a Tengu as you never need to faction fit it, and I don't like to faction fit in high sec. YAY for cheapass Tech 2 fit Tengu power. :-)

I got this from doing level 3s. I have a meta 3/4/t2 drake and about 2.8M sp. I was able to clear most of the first pocket but the second spawn of 3 BS which I could tank ok, but couldn't scratch.
I had a friend in an Armageddon come help me take those about, but he got fried by the second pocket. Between when he got aggro and I jumped in fifteen seconds later, he went from full shield to 50% armor, so we got out right quick. He solos Angel Extravaganza 4 in that ship, so that was something of a surprise.
Finally came back later and finished it off in a friend with a t2/faction/deadspace equipped Golem which handled it in style. I'd say you're very safe doing it in a well fit Marauder and probably a decently fit BS. The Armageddon I think was pretty run of the mill fit and didn't have superb skills backing it up, but certainly wasn't a slouch.
Hope that helps others who find themselves staring down a nasty BS spawn when the biggest ship you're used to seeing is a BC.

Should probably be ok, just make sure you primary the scrambling frigs that come with the second spawn in pocket 2 (on both occassions I ran this, I had 4 of them).
I completed it in my spidertanked CNR duo (mostly t2 tank mods, some meta 4). Pilot with aggro was permarunning booster, shield transport was active at least half the time and shield did go down to alarm level at one point (think that was just about when the named BS blew up, he puts out some respectable damage)

Wow, the comments about Tengus and Golems surprise me. I'm in the process of clearing it for the third time (first 2 were for other people, this time's mine. Decided now is a great time to work on my standing with Ishukone). And I'm using a T2-fit Drake. I'm tanking about 700dps vs Angels, and if I don't keep moving they will catch me and kill me, but it's not impossible.

http://www.casimages.com/img.php?i=10052812584699422.jpg ok 130m the +5, 280m the skill nanite control +0.6 of increase standing. and a domination bs overseer who drop...crap or halo alpha ? :p
well if they dont fix that quick, all empire carebear will pay the game with plex. perhaps few ship can solo it, but with a friend or alt with an osprey or exequror, a standard BS do it easy

Completed in faction fit XLSB golem, primaried BSs with torps and scrambling frigs with drones. Shield never went below 40%
Got 25m in bounty, a +5 implant (100m+) reward, faction BS dropped 150m module and all sorts of salvage. Made close to 300m in 30minutes wahoo!

Looks to me like that old bug cropped up where a mission designed for one particular level is suddenly accesible to all levels.
There was a mission against Drones a year or two ago that had the same problem.
This will be fixed, and considering the rewards involved and CCP's current stance against mission runners, it will be fixed quickly. |

If you report this mission as a bug to a GM, they will remove it even if it's underway and they won't give you compensation.
On the other hand, now you all know for sure they're aware of it and working on it so you don't have to report it.

Warped into first room, set drones on BS, found an interesting story on the forums. Totally forgot I was in the mission, Domi goes boom. Sold an old trimarked domi I don't use, bought a new domi, did the first room the right way.
Went into the second room, barely managed to kill the scramming frigs before warping out in 10% armor. Had a corpmate nearby with a guardian, we went in and took out the last room. 2x Local reps with 70%+ resis across the board, plus 3 reps from the guardian with a fourth one pulsing occasionally, and I was going to 40% armor and lower when they started target painting.
Looks to be a Lvl 5 without neuting towers, would <3 getting it again though.

Edited by: Hellaciouss on 28/05/2010 23:54:39 Did with a 140k ehp drake, 34,750 shields, 130+ regain. Had to warp out a bit, got dangerous w/ the scramming frigs. Was able to kill 2x battleships each time before having to warp out again. The real sucky part is that 55km slowboat to the 2nd gate. Didn't get jack from the named >.< just a domi em scattering amp...
PS the Outlaws (Angel Mission) scram and web so kill them first then kill the officer as he hits hard. May be able to lewt before you have to warp out, maybe not.
