playing a different game?
As in...one day I log in and find my stuff is all gone cuz someone playing Dust just destroyed all my stuff.....and I can't attack back cuz I don't play kids consoles?
Really CCP?

I think you're trolling but I'll bite anyway.
Nobody knows for certain, the game hasn't come out yet. There is talk about being able to pay soldier corps to defend and attack planetary installations, but we just don't know yet. Will they be able to completely destroy your stuff? No one knows, not even the people working on the game.
I think they might be able to take your installation over, and you might have to buy defenses or pay people to defend it. There was also talk of having a special ship that has to be piloted to each planet to attack it. So that it something you can defend against.

It is too early to criticize something what might never become reality. Why are you afraid of a future what might never come ? But even if it will ... Do your PI thing until DUST arrives, make the invesmtemnt worth, recover your money, sell your character alltogheter with your colonies when DUST arrives.

oh i can't wait till dust comes out, where i can actually put my skills from Halo, and gears of war and other shooters, and actually put it to use destroying other players assets in eve. oh it's going to be so much fun.

No, I'm not trolling.
The reason I'm complaining is that it is ridiculous if it comes to fruition this way. I spend assets to have certain abilites in the game and then someone playing an entirely different game can come and attack (and maybe destroy) my assets?
Ok, so I get the ability to pay someone to defend my assets? This is flippin' ridiculous.
If anyone planning on PI and is reading this isn't worried, then you're clearly not thinkin about the big picture here.

EVE never had and hever will be easy... if you want some 'security' in MMOs, go play Hello Kit Online... maybe there you will find some 'fun'...

Will probably be some mechanism in place I am thinking. And its needed to be honest. PI will be FOTM for a few months, then become like pos'. Lots out there floating around not being used. Some cause out of money, give them that since my wallet ebbs and flows. As long as they hit some missions hard or firesale some stuff to get back up and running ASAP, no hate from me.
Others...just place holders for pos corp sellers, or just too lazy to run a pos 24/7 but want there pos for when they do. This...ties up moons for no good reason, put a pos...use the damn thing. If not, free up the damn moon for someone else. Fix for this...war dec (corp or hire mercs) and dispose of said pos with a war doc. Effective fix to problem. Shame its used agains legit pos owners quite content to leave people be...but eve a cold place lol.
PI will follow same vein, get the poeple who try it out, get bored, looking for land resale (if possible, not up to speed in PI mechanincs 100%) etc and leave the crap laying about unused. Some good bashing needed to dispose of the garbage and make room for someone who actually cares to farm planets.

How did the Dust 514 players destroy your assets? Were they, perhaps, contracted by another capsuleer? Could you, perhaps, contract Dust 514 mercenaries to defend your stuff, or attack the other capsuleer's stuff?
Failing all else, there was some joking about being able to nuke the site from orbit. Whether that comes to fruition or not remains to be seen. There are plenty of possibilities to interact with and influence your neighbours' facilities, I'm looking forward to seeing what gets implemented for PI in the Next IterationÖ.

Can I have your stuff? Really, why dont you just quit the game, 1 less player who is going to cry a river over something that is frankly interesting isnt really needed around here.
