Y-T8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon I Microwarpdrives are no longer safe to invest in.
Down $1m isk bid AND ask, moving volume up *400%*
It is now a mission rat drop. Price will probably drop to $1m by the end of the week, and then further to a baseline of 400k.

It was a mission rat drop before, just nowhere near as common.
I had 3 drop in the first room of mordus headhunters lvl 4 today. Part of it may be due to fixing a long term bug - I've had my first 10mn afterburner I and microwarpdrive I drops today.

Y-S8 Afterburners may or may not also be affected to some extent, I am seeing some strange movement on some of my buy orders.

There goes 100 million..actually more like 200million counting those on fit ships i use.
Glad it wasn't 500 million as it could have been
Of course you guys could be pulling a big scam that got me so sell at 30% on my invested dollar... if so.. hats off...good mutiple alt posting that created supporting panic selling volumes to add credence to the ploy.!

Edited by: Olifor on 28/05/2010 03:51:41 I don't do much posting here on these forums, but I figured I'd add my 2 cents.
I have been running lvl 4's very frequently, and since this expansion I have seen a crap ton of meta 3 and 4 boosters that I had never seen before. Also, over the last 24 hours I have watched the selling value of these same boosters drop significantly (to maybe 25% of the original price I was getting). I imagine this is going to inconvenience some of you, bummer dudes!

I guess it's a bummer
I canceled some higher-priced buys to replace with some lower buys on these, although I was already getting them pretty cheap I think I can get them much cheaper at the new volume
I may have to run my stock bought at previous prices to Jita to liquidate it before the price crashes too hard, though

I don't think this is fake at all.
The Catalyzed Cold-Gas I Arcjet Thrusters are taking a hit too. With a massive influx of artificially increased supply, the market fell out from underneath them. The real "new" market for them is yet to be realized, as the adjustment has to take place. Only time will tell where they stabilize.
I lost about 150 million in both Y-T8s and CCATs today! I didn't see this one coming. I am fearful that tech 2 MWDs and ABs might take a hit too in price, as the reasons those the tech 1's were so popular and pricey is that they didn't require the added SP and were a bit more forgiving on grid and such.
Now, with them dropping from missions like hotcakes, do you guys think they will impact tech 2 prices/demand at all???

Well, guess its time for light volume buy orders.
Guess we would have seen other volumes increase ....
Having heavy arbies going from 13million ish to 2 millionish would have a little more sting to it.

I had a few 100 y-t8's lying around, luckily i just made a cleanup and had them centralized. I made the run to Jita where, i guess due to the fact that the system was closed a lot, the price still was at 8m. Did some slight manipulation and managed to sell most of them at that price which was the price i was buying them for anyhow.
One Leocaldari has loaaaaddss of y-t8s right now though :)
Shame about the other boosters, had a pretty large position in them as well, can't do much bout that at work though. Although the cold-gas sold extremely well before patchday somehow.

It's definitely not a scam. Mission wrecks are dropping AB/MWD much more frequently than before. They haven't just adjusted the loot to be size appropriate but also the drop rate it seems. After a few missions I've got a very well stocked hangar selection of all varieties of AB/MWD.

I also sold him a few ;)
I had about 250m worth (pre-patch value) of each of the booster types, so took a bit of a hit, luckily spotted it soon and dumped my stock in them.

I am slowly getting to understanding why we have so many bitter-vets out there. Every expansion CCP change rules for some activities so siginificantly that it hits with maximum impact all those who are more involved in it = invested some serious ammount of time. POS moon goo, sovereignity, loot drop... this is kinda crazy. The only thing I am missing now is some CCP Xyz guy posting blog how AWESOME everything in EVE is...

Although i admit the F@$ CCP was my initial reaction, this soon change to /facepalm for me being just to lazy to organize my stuff and liquify like i intended. I just checked my assets and still have like 100 y-t8 scattered in 3 regions (didn't even check the other boosters yet. i think i'll do that later when it's the right time for a stiff drink ;) . But to get bitter about these things... Just don't take things to serious. and btw i made billions trading these items. Taking a loss now is part of the game. And besides, one of my other items i trade in went up from 11 to 16 so..

Friday I sold cca 30 of them for 9 mil a pop.
Friday night price droped to 1,8 mil a pop. Mostly because someone decided to crash price in from 5 mil to 3 and then 2 mil. Otheres Leming after.
Kinda chaotic, but still good, for me anyway

I have now a lot
a couple of billions of ISK which is now somewhere in the eve universe
I realized to late that soemthing changed significantly on the market and the partly closed market in Jita was also hard to manage.
**** happens.
so I will see how long it take for me to come into the profit zone again. the coming weeking and next week will give an indicator which amount of items will come to the market
amazing. the difference between buy and sell is currently much higher than before

I love that since I hunt macros, one person become EXTREMELY angry that I've posted a potential investment risk..
Dude... How in the hell do you think I finance this ****? I can't just go around hunting macros, not really making any isk. We have investments on the side as well.... Some pretty good ones; Most people can't afford to just go out and buy a stack of battleships or hacs for this nonsense. CCP doesn't give us free isk either.
Anyway-- yes- the loot drops are messed up. I've seen much more scrap metal and higher value items. Just be careful selling or buying until it settles a bit. I think the artificial market will subside in a few days. Hang on to the stuff. You never know- CCP might reverse the decision to drop some loot and 8 months from now no one will have a Y-T8 to spare and you've got a stack of 200...

8 months of missed return on investment (on the market value today) can be a lot of ISK...

Edited by: Karahz on 28/05/2010 18:10:01 Alltough i have just lost 500mill coz of this increase in drop rate, I am rather worried for the production of tech 2 10mn MWD's.
The current drop rate is insane , value of these mwd's will drop to about 1 million isk having the same speed boost and even BETTER fitting requirements then the tech 2 version.
Why would anyone even bother producing the tech 2 variant?

T2 have a slightly lower capacitor penalty. This can be useful to some ships (especially thorax). They use more cap activating however. Possibly the drop rate for named MWD will be changed in a later patch.
However, I think the price will move up a bit as many people who'd fit plain T1 MWD on pvp ships go for the named (it never made sense to put named on T1 hulls).
