And here I thought it was people complaining about yet something else thats trivial.
I was pointing out that people complain about every single decision ccp makes and how illogical a lot of that complaining is. It doesn't seem to matter what ccp does as what they do is always wrong in someones eyes.
Do the people complaining even realize that other than the non-meta 10mn/100mn ab/mwd and the tech 2 variants of those ab/mwd, is that the only other 10mn/100mn of the 10mn/100mn ab/mwd are the named mwd they are getting in drops? There simply aren't any other metas for the 10mn and 100mn's.
This is why it looks like trivial, illogical complaining and why I posted in this thread.
You don't understand why people are complaining.

I'm with Olley. I'm a missioner, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be upset about with regard to this thread? The drop rates of one item out of the hundreds I harvest has gone up. The market price of that item has gone down. I almost make up in volume what I've lost in item profit (probably making 80% of what I was off that item).
The T2 inventors/manufacturers are making some extra money (the T2 prices seem only slightly affected).
I'm missing where the big deal lies? As I said, I'm a missioner and feel like this is something I'm supposed to be upset about, but I'm not sure what it is exactly I'm supposed to be upset about.
If you could explain it, as if to a 5-year old, perhaps I will understand, please?
TIA

Insane numbers of AB/MWD's dropping. And I haven't seen a single rolled tungsten armor drop since the change (months). Anyone getting these anymore? |

I've been receiving about the same number of rolled tungsten armors (of all sizes of armor) as pre-patch. However, Ony has been deep breathing more.
I personally love the increased drop rate of the AB/MWD. While it did lead to massive losses on the named modules I had in storage, it provides a nice source of materials in the absence of large meta 0 guns and I don't have to worry about being short a named AB or MWD for a new ship fit.

My only complaint is that the removal of meta 0 items was intended to reduce the amount of minerals sourced from mission loot. AB and MWD meta 0 should be replaced with scrap metal or tags.

loot drops are fine atm
less isk for pvers who make too much isk per hour even now (especially high sec bears)
pvpers get nice mods cheaper :D

I have noticed this phenomenon too. I assumed it was part of the "nerf L4 missions" mindset.
Sandbox? Yeah right :: taxed for staying in an NPC corp, L4's nerfed via loot table debauchery, PI raw matz sell for more than the end products (and it will take a long, long time to pay off the cost of my planetary installations via directly related income).
I get the feeling that CCP is driving us in some direction, but I just don't now what that direction is, unless it is spending more time making less progress... Nor do I like being forced into a direction via negative incentives.

this has been going on since the loot nerf
the nice mwd that used to go for 8 mil dropped to under a mil on the first day
now its down to under 10k.
no point in fixing it now since everyone has hundreds of them. it would take years for the price to recover even if they never dropped again

Not sure what you're doing wrong, but I have 3 planets in hisec that cost 5mil to set up each (command center included), and together generate about 10mil in income per week. It's no get-rich-quick scheme, but it certainly pays for itself in a reasonable timeframe - especially considering that I made four times that amount in the first 2 weeks before the price of my particular product plummeted (it's still selling at a profit over its components even now though).
As far as rat loot goes - anyone wanna buy some MWDs? Signature? What signature? |

This
I don't even have to read the whole thread.
Also Arbalest Cruises. All in all a pretty logical change if it wasn't for the fact i lost billions with the change.

The direction is very clearly free market and player interaction, the implementation is kinda lacking though. Just before CCP introduced PI loads of people bought huge stockpiles of NPC goods so it will be a year or two before those stockpiles run out. In keeping with Malcanis' Law the supposedly new player friendly PI system will not be able to make a good profit until the established players run out of stock.
Back on topic, the change in loot tables was because a huge proportion of minerals was coming from mission loot and miners were being consistently undercut by mission runners, despite the entire purpose of mining being to harvest minerals. Explanation in this dev blog.
Ages ago CCP released a chart showing the percentage of minerals that came from mining/reprocessing/drone compounds, does anyone have a link to that chart or remember what the number were?

Ah, so it wasn't just my imagination. For years when I wanted to cobble a quick runabout cruiser or industrial I'd have to buy an afterburner because there was never one in the hangar, and now they are in most cruiser wrecks. I'd also noticed a few more Arbies dropping as well, but they mainly seem to be launcher drops rather than turrets. I wouldn't mind a few decent tier medium artillery drops, but they seem to be like hen's teeth to me.
I hope the tables get another tweak soon, the drops don't seem very random at the moment.

They in fact were. This is clearly a signature. |

Doesnt matter where Im at, 0.0 or high sec missions, most people I know arent even bothering to loot stuff anymore, as its all just AB's anyways.

Its crazy to me.. the meta 4s are better than the t2s for most ships because the fitting advantages outweigh the very minor ability advantages of the t2s.
And they've dropped to the point where they are practically free (a few hundred k if that).
You'd think they'd tinker with the drop rate until they got slightly more expensive than the t2's. They'd pretty much need to shut off the drops for a while to use up the inventory.

So NPCs are finally starting to learn how to fit their ships?
Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |
