I like to think of myself as a veteran crow pilot, I have good skills to complement it, I've killed a million and one people with crows and I know and use good and effective pvp tactics on it.
But there's one intie that I have trouble killing under some circumstances. That is, a taranis with a tech 2 mwd and t2 ion or neutron blasters.
Could people who consider themselves very good pvp crow pilots share effective tactics and/or fits with me either here or in evemail?
Thx - Your favourite smacktalking idiot. --------------------------------------

Your faster then he is by default ( skills change that obviously) which give you one edge but when i fought my first crow in my taranis taht i lost to (pilots name grut good pilots). I believe he was using dual web with the standard 400mm plates.
Thats why i run a dual web crow now for pure inty killing and aviod most taranis pilots when in the crow. ----------------------------------------------

The opponents I fight are extremely prone to warping out, no matter if they are in a regular frig or intie so dual web prolly won't be an option. I always need a scrambler in order to keep the enemy there and to get his pod. --------------------------------------

I suppose you could go with something like this
3 x Launcher
1 x 1MN MWD II 1 x 20k Scambler 1 x Cap Recharger II
3 x Cap Power Relay
then orbit him at 15k+
never tried that setup I'm afraid, but I think you should be able to sustain cap.

mebbe stick in a Cap Battery II, instead of the recharger.

Yes you have a point there...the cap shouldn't be a problem, but I don't know about not being able to web. I'll test this one along with other possible setups --------------------------------------

Another possible anti taranis fit would be:
High: 2x std launchers, 2x 150mm's/125mm's
Med: t2 mwd, 20km scrambler, cap recharger
Low: 2x cap relays and an overdrive or 3x cap relays.
As I said before, most of the people that I fight are extremely prone to warping away and bringing like 10 people to fight me, so I need both scrambling and superior speed...
In my fights with taranises I have noticed that thanks to having just one 150mm proto the enemy has like 3/4 armor after just a short while when I swoop in to web. So if I can maintain a faster speed AND 2 guns then I may be able to properly WTFPWN a taranis.

If you have Balls... (and as a "Masta" Killa you should) - try:
Mids: 2xWeb (90%), 1xScrambler...
Nothing else matters... any Taranis that doesn't come inside 10km wouldn't kill you anyways... With this you can web/scrambe/and orbit him outside of his range (6km or so) - even if he web you and use an mwd, without mwd you speed will be ~55 and his ~30 (with the MWD ON - lol)...

Set your ship (any ship) to 55 meters per second and then fly 5 kilometers. Then imagine you have a total hp of ~700 (shield + armor + hull) and that someone is doing about 100 damage to you per second. That would mean you could fly 55-30= 25 m/s for ~7 seconds = a whopping 175 meters!
Sure I got balls dude but I'm not that stupid --------------------------------------

Edited by: DUFFMANX on 09/12/2004 05:18:05 Never flown a ceptor b4 nm a crow but how bout 3 rocket launchers with thorns(think they the kinetic ammo),1 90% web, an ecm burst to keep disrupting his lock and a mwd rest r cap recharge. Dunno how that would work but may be effective and allows u to get close and keep bursting him and spamming with rockets till he dies. (\_/) (O.o) (> <) This is Bunny. never tried that setup I'm afraid, but I think you should be able to sustain cap.
and how u do ur damage on this setup?
the missiles will never ever hit the taranis cos it goes too fast.
My setup:
3x arlabests
1x 10mn AB tech2 1x 1mn AB tech2 1x FLeeting Web
2 power aux 1 Local hull overdrive
And the uber setup for all who dont know where to spend the money on
2x arlabest launchers
2x 10mn AB Tech1 (named mayb) 1x Fleeting Web
3x 12 PGRID named micro aux cores
the damage istnt that good on the latone but theres NOTHING that can catch u, really not. (Even if a bs sux ur cap u just click in space and ur 100k away from the bs.)

Im also a not crow pilot, i fly min inty's only. hope u dont mind that i try to come up with a setup which i havent tried :)
This is like a ripoff of the infamous stiletto: hi:launchers me: mwd2, web, racial jammer low: whatever
The trick would be to launch as many wollys as possible and staying out of the web range, i dont know how many vollys but 3 would be nice, then go in close hit the veb (and be webbed) and hit the jammer, if he is supriced he wont have time to warp.
