Eve has failed in every aspect of gameplay. From the chunky interface to the complete lack of any interaction. Did the developers really believe a bunch of computer nerds were going to organize wars on each other without any guidance or reward??!!
Also - why do you bother creating a custom character at the begining of the game, it makes no difference what race or clan you choose?
I can actually see the subscriptions fall away - LOL - less than 4000 now. Stop waiting for new content people it is not coming :-) |

What's the purpose of your post Blissen beside showing your idiocy? ---
"Molly > funny thing is, if they warn me for attacking in 1.0, why does a GM wish me luck doing so? Jash Illian > perverse sense of humor? Molly > lol Jash Illian > honestly tho, because he prolly doesn't know bships" |

He's taken an insulting stance but he has a point. Aside from starting location and which race's frig skill you start with race has almost no point. ----------------------------------------- Sig rented by Drethen Nerevitas. |

Is that bad? No one race is better then the other. The diffrence is in how you RP it.
Like alot of things in eve they don't make you be diffrent that part is up to you.

There is as much incentive to roll play in eve as there is in monopoly, chess or quake. How about Minmatar get some sort of penalty for flying an Amarr slave trader ship or Gallente get some sort of bonus for using drones? How about Minmatar can KOS Amarr in Minmatar space? I know the war is over but the races are meaningless. Maybe faction standings could work somewhat like security status and if someone has high standing with your enemy you could get points for PVP against them.
Neocron, although it's buggy and outdated had a pretty cool faction system compared to EVEs seemingly half-assed attempt. I have all these different points for different factions and so far they seem completely meaningless. Hopefully CCP is just working out the bugs and letting people get settled in before they advance some sort of plot. Some people might like the fact their racial decision has no effect on their game play. I find it rather disapointing and hope CCP has plans to add some incentive to roleplay PVP someday. ----------------------------------------- Sig rented by Drethen Nerevitas. |

Race doesn't do anything? How odd, as I think it does... says so right in my Race's description that those Amarr zealots conquered and abused my people for centuries.
So, not matter what it'll cost me in Sec status, equipment or ships, I sure as heck will fire upon them when I find them in my (read Minmatar) space.
Funny how some people fail to understand those last three letters in a MMORPG.

Time is running out... They really should introduce some new story elements into this game or it will never reach the popularity of games like neocron, AO or UO... Sorry to say that but ppl made a point here.

He has a point but the races do make some differance in that the attributes that affect training time is slightly differnt becouse of race bonuses in them but the race differerance should be greater. And sure they do need to alter and fix many things for the game to be truly fun but give em some time. Dont know any mmorpg that was to evryones sadisfaction the first three months.

"From the chunky interface ..." ?????
"...to the complete lack of any interaction." ????????
"Did the developers really believe a bunch of computer nerds were going to organize wars on each other without any guidance or reward??!!"
well, It's allways been said, the storyline will not start immediately.
"Also - why do you bother creating a custom character at the begining of the game, it makes no difference what race or clan you choose?"
ok, a real point of discussion...
"I can actually see the subscriptions fall away - LOL - less than 4000 now. Stop waiting for new content people it is not coming :-)"
Less then 4000 now????? Where did you get that numbers? You've access to CCP's databases? Oh, you're talking about the number of players online. Last sunday night (this is allways the peak time) we had 6300. It's been increasing from week to week. Not quick, but continuously. No drop so far!!!
6300 max online could mean something like 20.000 to 30.000 subscribers. (Just compared to everquests subscriber numbers <-> peak online)
...sometimes I like feeding the trolls :))))

heh. this game isn't for children. CCP isn't going to spoon feed you scripted missions through the entire game. you have to make your own content.

Hate to point fingers at m0o more than I have to but, look at m0o if that isn't a player driven story I don't know what is. Everybody in Lonetrek knows about them. The whole blockade thing, the plots to take them out, the accusations of alligences etc etc. Theres plenty of stuff going on in eve if you go looking for it.
And for those that don't want to look for it. Start it yourself. Go shoot up a corp and claim you were paid by another corp, even if you wern't. Start wars so you can sell arms to either side (or more likely minerals)
My main gripe is that there should be items players can make that pirates can't drop. But when research is fully implemented then that may be fixed.
