I just wanted to run this by you guys before I made a bug report.
It was my understanding that when you completed a storyline, that you recieved a positive derived modification to the factions that the storyline faction liked, and a negative derived modification to the factions that they did not like.
I just completed a storyline for the Ammatar mandate and recieved a negative derived modification to the factions they don't like. However, I only recieved a positive derived modification to Amarr. Should I have also recieved a positive derived modification to the other factions they like? (Caldari, Khanid, Interbus, and Mordu's legion)
BTW, the last mission which I recieved standing for was the end of the Sisters epic arc. (Caldari)

Last storyline I did was in April, I received around 10% to Ammatar mandate, 9.8% to Amarr, 4.8% to Caldari and .9% to Interbus. This could well have changed since Tyrannis.

I've completed two Storyline missions for Amarr today and both raised my Ammatar, Caldari etc standings as per usual. -------- ¦ |

Don't forget there is a point at which you max out the gains/losses with derived standing changes. I don't have the exact numbers to hand but if the relationship between Ammatar and Caldari maxed at 2.5 you would gain no more Caldari standing when Ammatar increased once it was 2.5 etc.

I did not know this, and that seems to be what has happend. Does this apply to your base, or to your skill modified standing?

You all fail at reading comprehension forever, and the OP has it backwards.
To the OP: Derived modifications are based on how much a faction likes the faction you did the storyline for, not the other way around.
Example : You do a mission for the caldari. You get a positive derived increase because the amarr like the caldari, NOT because the caldari like the amarr.

I see, thanks for that.
It seems that you will alway recieve a negative derived modification to factions that dislike the storyline faction,no matter what your standing is with the factions that dislike the storyline faction. Is this correct? It seems odd the you can stop gaining standing for the factions that like the storyline faction, but never stop losing standing with the factions that dislike the storyline faction.

Why would you say "it seems" and assume that when you clearly aren't sure. And you are wrong. derived standings cap at how much the faction likes / dislikes the faction you did the storyline mission for.
Example : You mission *alot* for caldari. Your standings with amarr would cap at 8 (at least, I believe under the 'likes' tab for amarr they have caldari at 8). It is the same with negative standings, Ex: you mission *alot* for amarr your standings with the minmatar will bottom out at -5 (that is what amarr have minmatar set at under the 'dislikes' tab).

Except it doesn't bottom out. If you shoot the other faction's ships you get a standings hit for EVERY ship you destroy (ranging from 0.00001% to something like 2.5%). Structures can impose a whopping 3-5% drop. I forgot to mention that you are in fact reading something that is called a signature. |
