iosoti Amarr Astral Community Enterprises Rogue Elements.	Posted - 2010.06.05 00:47:00 - [1] IT alliance is withdrawing their forces from the north in crushing defeat. Max 2 has ended in failure once again. AAA/Atlas did not have the stamina to fight more than 2 weeks against a competent opponent. You see AAA get max participation for many months killing provi structures. As soon as they are matched up against a fighting force and lose a couple fights they ran for the hills. Along with atlas. Many called this happening before AAA even went into the north. They are of course a paper dragon aftertall, and this debacle just shows their true colors. However though IT are terrible at this game with terrible leaders and dumb people in general..... THEY fought LIKE LIONS and came back home on their shields. Fortress H-W has been protected, the SC left shattered and crushed.

I remember first day of maxfailv2.0 when we catch 5 IT titan in low sec and they killed the NOD instantly. This is IT, they talk about carebear NC pilots, but their toothless lions or paper tiger cant win against them. Maybe SC need more exploits,GM helps for kills and for wins. I asked molle before we went at the SC meeting, if this was a serious war for space or not and the answer was no. None of the powerblocks wanted NC space, aside from cloud ring which was where cry / evoke et al wanted to live. What that meant is it was taken way more seriously by the NC side of the war than the SC from the very beginning. Also its why we were fairly disorganized for the first few weeks of the war, with alot of people doing whatever they wanted to do alone and a few big fights where alliances teamed up. Not making excuses for anyone, but this war was never nearly as serious for the SC as it was for the NC, and going in for good fights, and having hell death node drops regularly wasnt good or fun fights. That killed participation with a quickness. We had a resurgency during the h-w thing, but it was fairly obvious at that point we just didnt have the US tz numbers to effectively keep it locked down. Thus it was a failed enterprise. What have we learned from this? A. Dominion ruined sov / epic warfare. B. Lag sucks and CCP is fixing it like BP is fixing our oil leak in the states. C. Making a racial r32 moon the main t2 bottleneck was ******ed and further broke eve. D. Blowing up spaceships encourages fleet participation, while sitting at login does not. E. Going in half assed against the Nc and doing it 5 jumps from tribute is a mistake and wont be alot of fun. Good fight NC brosefs, you guys were very organized, didnt let ego get in the way, and did a good job defending your space. Some of the fights were alot of fun.

And despite what would seem like crippling blows to each other it just seemed to be the norm for the day. A day. We see fights of Full capital fleets with BS support and enough Titans and supercarriers to for mtheir own wing, yet no one makes any real advancement on one other. What has us at the stalemate? Is the numbers? The lag? The mechanics we are confined to? Tactics and communication between alliances? This "Great War" accomplished nothing but if to show what mega coalitions can basically, not do, which is to actually defeat one another. So what if there is another large scale engagement, can we basically expect the same thing? As someone with no stake in all of this, I find it actually detracts from 0.0 life...you know basically, if your "in" with a major alliance or coalition, and worrying about actually having to flee seems like nothing if your only fighting in 2 areas for the most part.

I think if you're having to use a one sided battle in a dead node to win your argument you're starting off on the wrong foot. Where you should be starting is pointing out that IT haven't actually captured a region by combat yet. Oh wait.. that's the opposite of what you're trying to say.

If CCP had decentralised sov or decoupled it from large single battles, or maybe if they hadn't ballsed up large fleet combat so bad.
