Mostly because a large group of those people look at the game differently than I do, genaralising yes, discriminating no.
When I encounter someone with the OP's name, I think bad joke, +¡f a bad joke is the way you introduce your self, I tend to think that character think it's a good joke, conclusion we are very different people no need for you in my corp.

On a more serious note, every person is judged on his or her presentation, wether you're black, yellow, gay, male, female ect ect. If I aply for a job and use an E-mail adress called [email protected] I'll be judged by that and might be refused. If I aply with more neutral E-mail adress and get an interview and when we come to the point where they ask you about hobbies and I tell them I play EVE-Online it weights less heavy on your person than when you scream it out at the first possible occasion you get. Nothing to do with discrimination everything with what you project to be the most important part of you to the outside. |
