Quote: They won't ever do it, at least i hope not. EVE is a persistant universe, this is why we have one shard - your name matters. You are your character, you can't pirate, and then log on an alt and mine your life away without anyone bothering you. This is how it should be. Remove the rest of the characters. One char per account.
I have to agree here, particularly for a role play perspective.
Are there any RP'ers out there who use multiple accounts?
Which PA character are you?
That's no flying saucer, that's my ass! |

I think a lot of people forget that they play a MMORPG. You know, mmorpgs, those kind of games where you get to interact with other people. But wth, let's just get everyone train a skilled miner, a skilled producer and a skilled fighter, asign 3 empire systems and 3 0.0 system only to those 3 characters where they can hunt and mine and sell to npcs. Really, if you want to be self suficient, get Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale, go to multiplayer, form your own party of 6 characters and enjoy.
On the other hand the whining about CCP brings more skills in game and I can't train them on my alts is bull. Most are specialized skills: barges for miners, turret specialization for fighters etc. Trade skills don't hurt the noobs that want to get into trading since as a noob you CAN'T do a lot of trading due to the lack of money. If trading is your game as you accumulate wealth you are also well capable of training the skills you need.
The only thing about training skills that can be introduced in game would be fastest training for the first 1,000,000 skillpoints for only one character on account. That would help the newcomers.
And let me give you one more example, which is true in ALL mmorpgs on the market. Let's say you get a paladin to a certain level and then you decide you don't like paladins and you want to be an archer but would also like to train the paladin as well since you've already invested some time in it. ARE YOU ABLE TO DO THAT? NO! You stop leveling your paladin, you start leveling your archer.
This is a mmorpg so specialization is good. End of story.

you know im sure they could leave alts that have been paid for ($20 fee thingy) or alts with over a mil or two skill points. The harm in alts is when they are easily reusable, recyclable. if you wanna keep chucking $20 at ccp for that, or using like 1.5 month to get the SP, well then that isnt so much a nuisance. there cant be that many inteligent, well paid scammers out there (mostly they seem to be brain dead, such as the guy who tried to get me to drive my dom to him in 0.0, and he had -9.9 sec status, sheesh)
san. Character "Widescreen" is a scammer; beware.

I remember the first time I played this game, I made a character.. yada yada. Made a second character, and was surprised when I couldnt train them both at the same time. Would of much rather been able too.
But then from CCP's point of view this could hurt their multiple account money. Not that I believe it would, you cant use two characters at the same time on one account. Which is the main reason I have 2 accounts, so I can use them together.
It will never happen, and for this, I hate you decision makers at CCP. This is a part of the game you will let greed dictate game play for us. Just despicable.

Remove alts...
Ow, wait, no, lets not. *I need an alt to scout if the path for my main who is at war is clear. *An alt to spy the alliance I'm fighting (Alliance chat). *An alt to steal ore.

I have quit eve because it has stopped being fun. cops attack you for stupid thing like shooting roids and protecting your ore from ore theifs. I am a 3 month player it must be so had for new players now. As it is so hard to get into anything like mining and such other things. I am going to get World of warcraft when it comes out in the UK because its designed to be fun. Also you lose nothing in death and you can ask a player to duel with you. There is no stupid police also you dont have to join a duel if you dont want to.

why did they not make 2 servers one with concord and one with out. they would allow PVP to be more oftern and players to stop ore theifs.

You have to properly plan your skill training to achieve the goals you want, and what you want to fly, do etc.
If you can't decide that, or if you want instant satisfaction, don't play Eve. It's not a mindless leveling game where you can get uber by just grinding out levels and get loot almost automatically as you grind out levels.
Eve is very deep, you have to plan stuff out. If you cant decide what shoes to wear in the morning, then Eve is not for you.

Agree with that... You can do all you want in eve at the same time, it'll just take extra time to train... other MMORGP's will let you have a trade/manufacturinch char. who would not be able to combat the lowest mobs or players. No level grinding where account sharing ppl outleveld way older chars... But... that's offtopic...
I hate the concept of alts... they tend to be abused to make life for mains easier...
I've played a PvP based game with 2 opposite sides killing eachother.. I would gank an enemy and have an ally charging at and killing me. Why? I killed his alt... Who would be enemy to his main too. :/ and there was the spying etc. too...
IF you insist to have a trade char, mine char and combat char, it'd be fairer to be able to change char's once per day, hell, once per week maybe. That should stop the alt-abuse. ----------------------------------------------- "The laws of nature place idiots on the bottom of the foodchain".

A: CCP doesn't give a rat's Heineken what we want... it's been proven time and time again by idiotic, nonsensical nerfs. B: Expecting anything we say or request on these forums to be of use in future Eve developments is false hope indeed. C: Expect the level of customer service to degrade steadly as CCP continues to appoint unqualified, and incompenent GM's to positions where they impact the playerbase. D: Until the playerbase "AS A WHOLE" reacts to the point of causing CCP actual fiscal pain, they will continue to run their own private "LAN party" and get our money to do so. E: Every one of the Devs needs to read a copy of "A Theory of Fun for Game Design" by Ralph Koster. However until the level of recreational "ganja smoking" declines at CCP, I don't see that happening anytime soon.
P/S has anyone else noticed that the posts in the forums are gradually becoming more and more "frustrated" in nature? the clock is ticking CCP... it's your call as always it was.. End Trans: "Human Nature - If someone put a big red button in a remote mountain cave with a sign on it 'End of the world button!! Do not push!!.. the paint wouldn't have a chance to dry." |
