Corps from within your own militia can war-dec one another. So often people will form a fleet and then members will start shooting one another. This causes the fleet to fall apart, but it also leads to people loosing Faction status with their militia if they want to help their friends (for shooting fellow militia members). Which is why the militia s are forced to make these expensive defacto inner militia alliances.
War decs from out side of militias are fine and work just like any others and in most cases are from high-sec girly men. Given that most militia corps spend an overwhelming amount of time in low-sec they are kinda pointless. With alliance decs there is the problem of not being able to form a counter alliance while still remaining in militia. Again makeing it difficult and expensive for your friends to aid you. -Jin Nib Trading on behalf of Opera Noir since: 2009.03.02 03:53:00

The wardec mechanics also cause problems because it takes so much time to get it into effect. You have voting time, you have to have directors approve it, and then wait 24hrs. Meanwhile the person who got decced first is being picked at gates and you have to resort to going gcc to protect fellow militia members.
Problems with griefers exist when they join militia then shoot fellow militia, then leave corp after a couple weeks to reset faction standings and then come back to grief militia again w/o fear of standings punishment. So militia corporations resort to wardecs to protect their standings and freely engage them.
I don't really care for highsec f4gs but CCP really has to take a look at wardec mechanics, hopefully by making militia a semi alliance.

I think that all the reasons were described. And yes most of the wdecks were usually smashed when whole CDI joined.
griefing ... well I do not like mentality of Jita boys, but game allows it and so be it. And that Hexxed guys joined The 0rphanage shows something. So again I do not care for the high sec wdecks (they are side annoyance and we are handling them fine), I just want solution of something which was not solved for 2 years!
ad solutions considering that wdec militia corp will open war to whole militia - this will completely disballance the high sec wdecs as militia will be realtively safe harbor for every carebear and it will also disallow wdecs inside militia (unpleasant but inevitable sometimes).
ad solutuion of making alliances inside militia - this is simple solution of just disallowing alliance in militia to hold sov and voila ... it works even for the big nullses boys who are mostly of militias invading border systems or big null players ravaging militias just for fun.
For a moment there i thought you were serious, good thing i picked up on the joke. --- I smack just for myself. Allow faction cap boosters to be traded via normal market ! |

I stopped giving a damn about what Hidden Snake says.
Inglorious-Basterds and the Caldari Defense Initiative have done nothing to help out the general militia. Many of us genuinely want to PvP in fleet warfare, and some of us (myself included) are still learning about our ships, tactics, and what to do in fleet warfare.
For weeks I've watched IBS and the CDI go out alone - just those people in fleets. Many of us looking to join fleets are ignored, because of "spies". There's no fun in this "fleet warfare" thing because, and get this....read it carefully, Hidden-Snake, because it's directed at you:
YOU'VE TAKEN AWAY THE FUN FOR EVERYONE ELSE. YOU HAVE SYSTEMATICALLY DESTROYED WHAT LITTLE MORALE WAS EVIDENT IN THE MILITIA WITH YOUR STUPID F***ING IDEA AND WERE ABLE TO CAUSE MORE DAMAGE TO IT THEN THE GALLENTE EVER COULD. CONGRATULATIONS.
To be honest, I've set up quitting Draconian Armada, a Caldari militia corporation. I thought being in a militia would help out with my PvP. But the only fleets I've been in have had FCs that don't have the balls to actually engage the enemy. Any time the Gallente or Minmatar leave Tama, it's back to Nourv. Because they don't "want to chase the enemy".
So Hidden-Snake, if you want the concept of fleet warfare to be fixed, stop destroying its integrity for your selfish reasons. And for God's sake, stop whining about small things.

well what should I say .... I know I am not omnipopular just because we build IBS and CDI, but just check this:
1) past week we have to go together CDI mostly because we were dealing with wdecks from The 0rphanage 2) 2 and 3 days ago was training fleets for complete noobs (special thnx to my corpmates Marauder73 and Firey Jack) 3) I did massive fleet even with total noobs from general militia (merged my fleet and some other general militia fleet) over weekend 4) we run this training program (and it requires some attention believe me) 5) I did at least one fleet last week which included even general militia 6) CDI is still taking ****load of kills in compare to the rest 7) Twice we risked open war just to protect smaller Caldari corps which were not part of CDI (once openly declared war and last week we have to live with some later consequences) 8) and honestly after Gavins act IBS was the only corp fighting in militia for quite long
And now Vorlan, before you speak **** about CDI (or me or IBS) - how much you did in past 2 weeks for Caldari militia? Because we are doing a lot in past 7 months.
Honestly I am not reacting just because of me, because I dont give a **** for this, but there are quite lot of good people behind these projects and they hard working to rebuild things we kinda believe in. So if you have any personal problem convo me in game and lets speak about it and stop spiting on work of these good people.

Ah, so because you had a wardec from some random corporation, you couldn't put fleets together with the general militia. Gotcha'.
Quote: 2) 2 and 3 days ago was training fleets for complete noobs (special thnx to my corpmates Marauder73 and Firey Jack)
Noob fleets who, if I'm not mistaken, must follow your rules as set forth in the fail thread you posted a few days ago. A "training program" that doesn't train them for true PvP combat, from what I have been told by several rookies.
Quote: 3) I did massive fleet even with total noobs from general militia (merged my fleet and some other general militia fleet) over weekend
Ah, so you merged your fleet with someone else's from general militia. Gotcha'.
Quote: 4) we run this training program (and it requires some attention believe me)
The fail one, correct?
Quote: 5) I did at least one fleet last week which included even general militia
Funny. No one seems to remember this "fleet" you speak of.
Quote: 6) CDI is still taking ****load of kills in compare to the rest
You know why? Because while general militia "fleets" are getting hounded by Gallente fleets, your little gangs are running around, picking off war targets who are ratting. Or better yet, not even informing anyone else in the militia that you have a fleet going. No one's going to get kills when you're hogging them all.
Quote: 7) Twice we risked open war just to protect smaller Caldari corps which were not part of CDI (once openly declared war and last week we have to live with some later consequences)
Cool story brah.
Quote: 8) and honestly after Gavins act IBS was the only corp fighting in militia for quite long
From what I've seen that's not true. You might be the only corp who has dedicated every waking hour to PvP, but you're not the "only corp".
Quote: And now Vorlan, before you speak **** about CDI (or me or IBS) - how much you did in past 2 weeks for Caldari militia? Because we are doing a lot in past 7 months.
Let's see. Been going out with fail fleets/gangs that place me on b*tch duty so I'm not on killmails. JOining fail fleets that refuse to chase the war targets out of Tama. I've been working on trying to get the noobs who you all on your pedestals seem to have forgotten about out and about so they can experience some PvP. Overall, I've been working to help get general militia and not some clique together so they can have some fun.

Those who profess not to care - and yet reply - do in fact care. Just figured I'd let you in on that.
Second, the only "good person" who's worked for the militia has been Gunny. I had respect for you, but after watching you guys for the past two weeks, I've lost it. And I'll be disappointed in Gunny if he follows the same route as you. Eventually, you'll alienate so much of the militia with your selfish antics that the only people that will be left are CDI and the spies. It gets pretty lonely at that point.

Two weeks? You need to relax dude, things in FW take months to develop.
Quote: Noob fleets who, if I'm not mistaken, must follow your rules as set forth in the fail thread you posted a few days ago. A "training program" that doesn't train them for true PvP combat, from what I have been told by several rookies.
Also I just noticed this, I have no idea what it means though. What is "true PvP combat"?
Really if you believe the brand spanking new, just-started, training program is so bad then why not tell us what the problems are? Or give it a bit more time to actually get off the ground. Quote: You know why? Because while general militia "fleets" are getting hounded by Gallente fleets, your little gangs are running around, picking off war targets who are ratting. It's kind of hard to hog kills. As for CDI exlusive fleets they are easier to organize and you know what you getting and what your goals are. Given that Hidden Snake does do general militia roams and has done them for over a year (CDI was only really put into place last month) I think you are sort of jumping the gun. You should also note that most of the CDI corperations have active recruitment and happy to get new guys. IBS is at the very least. IBS in general isn't into the good old Gavin powerhouse blob that used to run all the time, and that's OK, but it's kind of at cross purposes to complain that IBS or CDI doesn't run such fleets.
Really I think you are just being too impatient and not hitting the right gear with which to enjoy militia. Just take it a little easier and get used to the dynamics of the situation before you charge headlong into a forum rant. -Jin Nib Trading on behalf of Opera Noir since: 2009.03.02 03:53:00

Blobbing up usually scares targets away, and our "wolfpacks" usually refuse to fight, expecting run around and pick stuff off. It gets very boring at times, but thats the part of the tactic I guess. Sometimes I avoid fleets and just go roam around solo or with a couple mates and it's proven to have been more fun than some of those giant blobs where you roam around for hours without a decent fight.

Really, I'd love to be a fitting *insert unpoplar german political party here...stupid filter...* in fleets and make sure all the field purger rigged drakes have been purged from fleets, or that tacklers have points fitted, or that gun boats dont have 1 laser, 1 railgun, 1 blaster, 1 autocannon fitted with shield booster and armor reps... Point is usually FCs don't have time to sit in a safe in nourv for an hour to make sure people don't have failfits, and when we do, by that time the gallente fleet we had intended to fight has already gotten bored to tears and left. We have intel channels for people we know that they know what they are doing so we can ship up quickly and move out of nourv to shoot stuff. It's not just CDI in these channels, I'm sure if you asked your ceo nicely he'd try and get you into one.

Yeah Gunny is very friendly to general milita. At times though he gets fed up with failfits, people not alinging, people not shooting the primary when the tertiary he calls dies first and not the primary. As you may have noticed gunny hasn't been leading fleets lately. Trust me, it's not because he is following the secret treehouse club trend, he is just unable to play EVE at the moment. He will be back soon (TM). Also the last couple weeks most of our other FCs have been lazy, myself included. I've been seeing a lot of new guys stepping up and trying to FC, so props to them. Just chillax and be patient. If you are a good pilot, you'll be recognized and eventually invited to an intel channel.

"FW" stands for Faction Warfare.
Even if CDI only ever flew with each other and "hogged kills" (wtf does that even mean?) it would be perfectly fine. They don't really have any obligation to the general militia. Nor does the general militia have any entitlement to FCs or fleets. You seem to have some bizarre notions about how the militia is "supposed to work" (lol).

Supersekrit crew checking in.......oh wait wrong side :)
We got exactly the same stick when we formed the MDP, got accused of ruining the Gallente general milita etc etc etc, but tbh, Hidden Snake is trying to take things a step further by running his training programme and you gotta give him kudos for his initiative in trying to help the more nooby pilots (whether your opinion is its the best way to do it or not doesnt matter, the fact is he is trying to do something rather than nothing). End of the day, why should the general militia people feel they have an obligated right to have access to corps fc's, comms etc rather than getting off there arses grabbing a few pilots and having a go themselves.
We had a situation the other night where people were moaning that there were no fleets up, so i left our corp fleet and asked for x's in the militia channel but asking for at least a couple of people with mics to act as scouts - amazing how many people had headsets with broken mics, or it was with there other computer etc etc etc.
SoTF tried through a couple of alt corps on the Gallente side to create a noob type starter corp for people but it just ended up being horse work for the people trying to do it so it ended up dieing before it got anywhere tbh - So if HS does get this up and running then he deserves a lot of credit.
Theres nothing worse when running a fleet having to worry about whether people have there ships fitted right, are they going to listen to shoot the primaries called etc etc etc ū it makes a huge difference between winning and losing fights. And having to wait eleventy minutes for people to re-ship is also a major pain in the arse, most of us want to log on jump in a fleet, shoot stuff and go to bed and not have to worry about little Johnny bringing his ship from system x and wanting to be scouted to re-join the fleet in his new ship 30 min after you called for re-shipping.
So, good on yer for the CDI and good on yer for the training programme, ignore the nay-sayers mate and donĘt feed the trolls.

You know, I'm always harping on about how I'm new to this game, so my opinion should be taken with the proverbial grain of salt. And I wear that like a badge of honor, really. However, being new to the game doesn't stop one basic thing from happening consistently in MMOs:
When a clique forms in a guild/corporation/alliance/militia, it only spells trouble. I watched several guilds doing well in WoW fall apart because of cliques forming, and that was really the sole reason these otherwise healthy groups fell apart.
I apologize to Snake and IBS/CDI, but the truth is many people have the same feelings that I do towards the idea. I spoke with two last night while hunting Gallente, and when I explained my reasons for leaving, they fully understood. There are players in the militia - myself for example - who have shown that we aren't spies, and that we genuinely give a damn about having fun in the militia. Hell, I was even one of the people who you said was a "possible recruit". But it does breed distrust. No one wants to be the "second string" players. And many people don't like seein that there's small groups flying around kiling things when they ask for hours, 'Is there a fleet up yet?'
You run one, maybe two, fleets with general militia. And from the way you are acting (I fully understand that it is difficult and near-impossible to ascertain someone's tone on the internet) you are portraying yourself as a Messiah-like character who is somehow doing something incredible by lowering himself to working with "general militia". And I'm just going by what I saw in this thread, with referring to general militia as "noobs".

Good thing this guy is leaving corp in a couple hours. /o
CEO Smackdown!
I haven't played much EVE, but coming from other MMOs and being able to see good and bad guild leaders, I can safely say that Draco falls under the "Incredibly freakin' bad and lawlworthy" list of "bad" leaders. That makes two in that category (the other is from a pathetic WoW guild I was in that couldn't PvP or PvE).
Not much of a smackdown.

Maybe it's just me, and it totally could be just me, but I fail to see any "emo" in that post.
