They actually said something about that in the last year or so.
Or...the idea was brought up and someone at CCP gave it the nod.

It's a part of the launcher initiative.
1) Move login to launcher
2) Make client only character select and make character swap possible in the process.

Here's an idea, If you want to switch toons just make your avatar go to bed. Then let you switch toons. When you log back in, you would be 'waking up' in the CQ

The whole login system needs a lot of updating. It would cool if we could see our avatars rendered in 3D upon selecting them. Of course, I support the OPs idea as well. |

I must say I am disappointed in CCP for their lack of response on this thread. After gauging the response of replies to this suggestion, I directed some communication to CCP Devs amongst others (CCP Soundwave). To date I have not even had a "I read your message and can't respond." or "P!ss-off" from anyone at CCP.
My question was very simple and quite benign: GÇ£Where on the product backlog (a prioritised the list of things to do) is the feature that will enable users to switch characters instead of re-loggingGÇ¥.
It seems unless you create a huge embarrassment for people at CCP or create controversy on a forum no-one will even have the courtesy to respond.
Seriously CCP, give us a response? We're not asking for redevelopment of the Windows Kernel. Just the decency to respond to a paying customer asking a question with no agenda attached...
