I'm thinking a nice small fix for corp. is to lower the cost of the awards. paying 10 mil to make 1 award and pass it on to 1 person seems pretty ridiculous. 1 Small piece of medal on your supposed chest costs 8x more than the large ship your flying..
Would be nice to allow the non hard-core bring-in-billions-of-ISK Corps. to be able to give awards for various things to its players.

What is the worth of the award if you can give it basically cost free to some player? At least your corp is at the point where the awards really states to you that you have done something to achieve it.

10mil is what? 30mins of lvl 4 missioning? That's actually dirt cheap.
If you as a corp can not afford it, why not ask the member to pay those 10mil? If he does you can be sure he either has enough ISK or that your award actually means something to him.

Right and to give 15 people an award would cost me 450 minutes of lvl4 Missioning. or 7.5 hrs of doing nothing but lvl4 missions.. Quite frankly. I do have a life, and do not have 7.5 hrs to spend doing that.
Everyone seems to be missing the big picture... looking at it as 1 person recieving an award, yea no big deal.. when you group it all together.. it quickly adds up.
As for the other comment on corp wallet.. Right.. the Corp. wallet is there to help buy corp ships fitted for operations, so people dont lose their personal ships, To help pay off other things such as POS equipment or fuel if you have one of those, and whatever other expenses your corp may have as a whole depending on what your corp does.
If I recieved an award, the "meaning" behind it as you all keep talking about, is WHY I got it, NOT how much it costed them to give it to me. If I recieved an award for being totally awesome.. ok, great whatever, looks cool yea.. but if I recieved one for doing something awesome during an operation, or taking part in a major operation that turned the tide of battle, that will make me grin and smile and mean alot to me.. NOT the cost it took for them to give it to me.
Thats the part I think most people are failing to see.

I agree with this, the problem is, the target audience of these awards are younger corps who may be just starting out and like to do a bit of RP'ing/Friend making.
You know the time when you didn't think everyone was trying to stab you in the back and take all your stuffs.
And when your newish, 10Mil is a lot of ISK. _____________________________

For smaller, more intimate groups that don't make a lot of money but value the esteem and recognition of their peers, it can be a burden to have to spend a large portion of your income on awards that don't generate any revenue. On the other hand, nobody said that running a corp was supposed to be cheap or easy. If you want to recognize your mates' contributions for free, use titles. ======================

Yes pleeeeease, I want to be able to give my corpies some awards without breaking the wallet. Its not like ppl are going to give ppl a free award for completeing a lvl 2 mission or getting you first cruiser. I will give it to members that ran 10 mining ops or devoted alot of thier time to improving the corp. But im not going to spend 10 mil isk just so my members get a peace of metal that says, I went on a few ops or I was in operation 'Longhual'.
