I've played very much on and off, and honestly I never quite knew what I was doing because I never really read everything I needed to read or do everything I needed to do. I start playing seriously recently though, and I actually have a proper idea of what the hell I'm doing now.
Anyway, just so everyone knows that I still consider myself, though I registered three years ago new-ish, I just wanted to remark on what I consider to be an extreme demoralizing feeling for me. I don't pretend to know everything, but after reading things and getting back into the game after so long, it just feels like CCP gives us the illusion of a sanbox, and the ability to do all sorts of things, but continues to punch high-sec/PvE-ers in the face repeatedly with nerfs and regular de-incentives to do what they (and I) are doing.
It feels like CCP is bound & determined to do everything in their power to push and pressure and nerf people to death with little things over and over until they either move to PvP/nullsec or quit, and this is another example of that. All I want is for CCP to get the message that these consistent attacks on high-sec/PvE players are not only stupid, but they're not successfully moving people to nullsec, as we will either never go there because we don't have an interest, or because we will move their on our own damn time.
If you, CCP, want to provide an incentive for people in high-sec to get involved in PvP and nullsec, the simple fact of the matter is that you have to make it more attractive to us to do so. Make it seem less daunting, give people more to do or an easier way to regain their losses. I know alot of pirates and PvPers won't like that, but it's how we think and how I think we feel, regardless. Consistently reducing the amount of high-sec activities or nerfing the existing activies to give us less or make us have a harder time, will not give us more of an incentive to move, as it just reduces everyone's ability to have fun and get money, and thus, we're less likely to risk losses. Give us more instead of taking things away!
tldr: If you want us to move to nullsec and get more involve in that aspect of the game, extend your hand, don't give us your fists.
