Edited by: subject 1337 on 12/12/2004 12:36:25 A "friend" of mine gave me an account some months ago. But he changed his mind recently and decided to get it back. He then did something to ccp, sent some kind of mail and ccp gave his account back.
WTF????
I paid for it till 2006, it has 15.3 mil sp, 300 isk and a further 200-300mil in assets.
not to mention 5 lvl4 research agents pumping out 1.5k rp per day.
as you may have guessed im not a happy bunny right now and if ccp let that happen then I am definately quitting this game.
anyone had this happen to them or ccp want to explain yourself or are you gonna lock this thread and shut me up?

Strange CCP did the exact oposite with me and then "banned" the accounts because of the sharing account details in the EULA but strangely the accounts and characters are still active but with changed names which CCP say they never do.

Definately getting locked now. It sucks about the account, especially the amount of money you lost, did ccp mail you, or did they just take the acount? -------------------------------------------------

Account Ownership:
* The original owner of an account is firstly, the owner of the boxed CD key, and in case of online purchase the original creator of an account. * Accounts can not change ownership. If you have received an account second hand, the original owner can still claim ownership of this account. Note that accounts transferred before May 18th 2004 are exempt from this rule, as account transfers were allowed before that time. * Characters can be transfered through the Character Transfer service, to another valid account. This is the only valid procedure to attain ownership of an character. * Passwords are the responsibility of the account owner. If a shared password leads to abuse of the account, it is the responsibility of the account owner and customer support cannot reimburse the loss.

if it was transferred before may this year and you can prove it then maybe you can get it back either way a Reinbursment for the time on the account should apply, only my opinion but if I was in the position I would certainly not be paying for a service I am not getting.

The account transfer was only legal if you followed the procedures that were in the EULA before they changed it.
If you didn't e-mail [email protected] (or something like that) with the info ccp asks for in the eula, the account was not legally transferred to you and the old owner is still the account owner, no matter who payed for it.
****ty, but that's what you get for not following procedure, I guess.

Hey guess what, never trust anyone (except your mother and sisters). Trading accounts is stupid in any case. Its against the EULA so you have no leg to stand on. If you want a quick hand-up in Eve, buy some learning skills :).

please lock this thread it has been sorted privately.
however, things turned out different to what i expected, my "friend" did this because he was mad at ccp, they tried to press charges against me. even though my friend told them not to.
i got all the assets back but he is keeping the char until this whole thing clears up.
anyway, i blame ccp

Cash up and transfer the character to one of your(?) accounts instead. That way CCP cannot interfere with the EULA as moral guideline and it will be yours legally.

Locked.
Yes, you broke the rules, obviously everything that happened as a consequence of that must be CCPs fault.
