I play this game solo...
I am not in a corporation.. (Well, the newbie one, but do not even bother too look in the chan as it has to be among the 90% of the lamest online people I ever saw in there.)
An ordinary play day...
I set up my researcher to research some of the few blueprints I have. (The shining star of the collection is my Condor BP. hehe)
I start some production with my production guy, some missiles, maybe some ammo to try to sell or anything I can produce and my main char needs.
I log my main char in, set his training. Go out and start mining some kernite/omber for a few hours. I return, let my prod guy refine it and set up some more production.
Then I fit my ship for combat and go out and hunt some pirates to get some time off the mining. After getting tierd of the boring and same loot I allways get from killing pirates I return to the station where I have all my stuff and jump into my Badger 2 and try out a trade route.
This is about the average playing day I have. Somedays I really enjoy playing, others I wonder what the heck I am doing.
I have been thinking of joining a corporation. But I dont want to be some mining drone or something, if I would join a corp I would wish for it to be rather far up the top fighting for the highend stuff and producing thoose extra good stuff. Or maybe join the darkside, think most of us has thought about it.
I will share you a little story..
I created an own little corporation with all my 3 chars in it. I was bored one day and a guy came in and stole all the loot from the 4-5 pirates I had killed. I checked the corp out, it had 13 members. Checked their homebase close to mine. Well, why not I thought and declared war on them.
After the first 2 hours when waiting for the war to start I got about 30 letters from them calling me everything from beeing their mom, (they did not use that word but I guessed they reffered to their mothers title), to how much they would 0wn me as they wrote. They used words I had to ask in channel what they ment, was some dood special language obviously.
Well, next day. War is on! Woho! I equip my little Merlin for combat, (did not want to risk my Osprey), and head out. They hang around 2 jumps away from my station, and I quickly found 2 of them mining in a belt. I warpjammed their indy and took on the merlin mining. I blew the Merlin up and hurt the indy rather bad before it got away.
Now my mailbox started blinking like a strobo on a rave party. Man they where angry and now they said pod me so often that I still see pod as the second word I read everywhere. But, I continued, they chased around, and I attacked here and there. This continues for a few days, I only take out a total of 3 frigs for them and escape about 20 times from their cruisers.
Then it comes, they offer me 1M isk for peace. Well, I am not a stupid man, I accept and they all write buddy letters to me.
Point of story? Not much.
What more can I do???
Thanks for taking time if you read this far. Just me writing some. I am back in the newbie corp now just as I wanted to see some chatting. But I think I will go back to my mini corp again, I remembered after 5 mins why I left newbie corp. Be well everyone.

Gosh, you list about the same reason why I started my own Corp. Couldn't stand the Newbie Corp I was assigned to. My other char's NBC is much nicer and I don't intend to leave that one any time soon.
Will boost my third char this weekend and let it join my Corp. It's good to read that little Corps can tackly a slightly bigger Corp :)

I really did enjoy reading that. If they didn't pay you they'd always have to watch their backs. I used to be a submariner so it kinda reminds me of submarine warfare in WW2. The main targets were the merchant convoys..you had to hit them where it hurt, lol.
Great read.

Rofl...
Very funny story indeed!
you must really have been dealing with idiots...
This reminds me of something...something you also mentioned about being a mining drone or some other robot like figure in a corp...
If you feel you will become this inside a corp then why on earth would you want to join one?? O_o
I hear a lot of people talk about this...i can think only that they are either pregidous and will never be satisfied nomatter what they get to do OR they just been dealing with the wrong people all together.
From your side of the storie it seems like you were dealing with a bunch of kiddies..
You want my advice?
Join a mature corp that is about more then just the everyday EVE stuff. The game is only as fun as you make it for yourself...if you wish to make it into a boring routine then well thats your choice but id say your missing out alot!
Originally by: cashman It's time for Eris to get a clue. CCP should make a statement about this.
It's the exact same things as what Zombie did, you may not attack in "safe-areas" (empire/within sentry range) without loosing your ship.

Just goes to show when a person makes a corp of "Me", "Myself", and "I" what those three individuls are capable of.
You have some hardworking people there dude. My hat is off to you.

If you wan't more complexity and diversity in the game I would def recommend joining a good corp with sensible people. I have spoken a lot with 3 diff corp and all of them seem very mature and friendly. Heck my ceo is 30+ and have children so no d00ds. I think the added complexity to plan many more things is the best with a corp for me. /Andreas

This post has reafirmed my faith in humanity and the EVE player-base. Sorry to bring this up but I sugest that the membership of m0o reads the post. It will show them there is more to EVE then power-gaming, min-maxing, and dominating everyone else in the game. This would go for a few other people as well. People will play the game how they see fit, not how other people tell them how to play it. After all its the respectable folk who make this game work, no the pc rat types. BTW Koff if you are ever looking for a good, easy-going and friendly Corp feel free to loook up STK Scientific.

Lol sounds like my little adventure. My little one man corp "Ferengi Alliance" was happly pirating and thieving away when low and behold a small 11 man corp got angry and declared war! Well that lasted all of 2 days, after causeing them around 11m isk in damages I was paid to leave the system :) Come join the fun.
Here's my take on cargo can theft.
"Let me attack the dang miner who is stealing ore from my asteroids! Thier mine I tell ya! Mine! I just havnt gotten around to taking them back to base yet!"

I think most everyone missed the point at the end:
"What more can I do???"
Honestly not much, and in truth you're lucky you were picking a fight with a clueless newbie corp, not one decked out in high end cruisers and battleships which will become more and more common as the gap between soloers and corps gets wider over time.
Ultimately big corps are going to end up being the only worthwhile part of the game, assuming balance gets revamped so that PvP doesn't suck and combat is more than just 60 seconds of hopeful button pushing. You may be able to compete with other soloers, but I'd also start to question the entertainment value of doing the same virtual job day after day with no real hope of progressing to something better.
