Don't know where this post belongs so i put it here. I'm at school now and it's boring so I thought I could write about this.
I don't know if anyone got a nemesis in eve but I do. His name is Rift Scorn and he is responsible for some of my important career moves in eve.
It all started 8-9 months ago. I was new to this game and I was out mining for the first time. I didn't know much about game mechanics but i was told that you need to mine to get better stuff and so i did. My corpmembers told me to use a jetcan so i can put the ore in it. After 30 minutes of mining I spot a frig in the same asteroidbelt and i warn him in localchat that he can take what he wants except my jetcan. He accepted it but with my chatting in local i got unwanted attention. Soon after the frig left a hauler showed up and I panicked. I locked him in hope that it would scare him off but he keept on moving towards my can. I feelt that I didn't have any other choice than to fire my missiles at him. Because it was a 0.8 system Concord wasn't that happy about my actions and decided that my Osprey would serve a better purpose as spacedust. The ore thiefs name was Rift Scorn.
I was angry now but not at Rift Scorn. What was the point of having ships if you couldn't attack anyone? Then I heard about piracy and decidied that was the right move for me.(0.0 was still unknown for me) So Rift Scorn had pushed me in the direction of piracy and I was happy, pvp was much more fun than mining.
A few months went by and i didn't see Rift Scorn. Our corp joined CA and i thought with my pvp skills i had by now would turn that ore thief into a good trophy in my hangar. One day i read on the forums about Rift scorn and how he had killed someone and saw an opportunity to get info about him. I said plain out that i'll get him if someone provided location.
No answer on the forum. But the day after that I was camping in bvip with my 13+ ships in gang and would you belive it. Rift Scorn enters the system in a badger(not sure about the ship) and i thought my revenge was finally here. But my scanner lowered my excitement, our corp had good standings towards his and that could only mean one thing. He was an ally and shooting him wasn't happening. He got slowly away and I just looked at him with my hands tied.
Kr0m was Rift Scorns corp and they were/are good at pvp. I watched a movie with them and I see a great battle somewhere in universe being fought. Here i was defending northern entrance to CA while these guys was having fun. I wanted to attack so when the orders came that we leave CA to attack Fade i was happy again. It didn't end up as hoped and we bacame defendes and members of FU instead.
I wasn't happy about the turnout but then the news came, Kr0m was joining forces with the enemy and was attacking Fade. This was great news because now i had the chance to meet my nemesis once again. And it happened, in early december FU gather a fleet with 100+ ships to defend against Kr0m, DIE, BOB, NM and others. I was there in my scorpion when the initial attack came. A small (very fast moving) enemy battlecruise/cruise fleet was there to split our fleet up and surely Rift Scorn was there in his Maller. I activated my rails, launchers & multi speccs at him but i didn't do much damage. I got tired after a while and said that i was logging of, 2 seconds after that a corpmember posts his kill in the chat. It was Rift Scorn's maller and i was disappointed, i wanted to kill him. The battle however got me thinking, it looked more fun attacking and dying than defending and surviving. And once again Rift Scorn showed me what i should do. After that battle I supported a suggestion in the corp about going pirate again.
And now we are pirates again.
Rift Scorn has no clue who I am, I've never talked to him. But to me he is my nemesis and he got my respect.
I will see you again Rift Scorn, until then YARRRRRRRR!

Having had the opportunity to fight alongside Rift recently, I can definitely say he is a true leader and a bad-ass pilot.
He even sounds like a proper military dude on TS... unlike the rest of us drunken bums ^^
I hope you get some revenge on your nemesis though!

Having had the opportunity to fight alongside Rift recently, I can definitely say he is a true leader and a bad-ass pilot.

Yes because he is the only one i have set a personal standing towards. And i got him in in people & places so I see when he logg on/off. Sometimes it takes a while to remember why i got him there but after a while it all comes back to me

I can't drive a Maller! I think that was a Thorax that got wasted when i was dumb enough uncloak in front of a FU fleet about 8 weeks back  . Other than that ...

Yeah i might be wrong about ship types in the story, sry bout that. But don't get bigheaded now, im not gonna chase you through the whole universe. The story isn't finished yet and i think destiny will work in some mysterious way and put us on opposite sides in a battle once more

I still remember when Rift was in a ore thieving corp our corp Shaw declared war on them I managed to kill a ship of Rift's hell of alot of fun
that was before when Max flame was a anti pirate (now he is in Krom with Rift) Max was ****ing he's pants when Rift attacked in a Cruiser against my megathron and ran away he had torps I only had heavy missiles he never did get trough my shields he's ship was dust
he does have my respect though he took it like a champ and we both lol at Max :-)
now of course if I ever do run into either Max or Rift they will get a torp after them :-)
I did enjoy the good times hunting them though
