Edited by: Tsukiko Ishida on 18/06/2010 14:35:37 I've read through multiple guides but only one actually told me in advance what ship classes I should bring. It seems that BC/BS was used for ever COSMOS mission except one, where an AF was used. To avoid confusion, since I somehow doubt that a BS will actually fit through most of these COSMOS gates, and wasting ISK, which ship-class should I purchase to run the COSMOS missions for Amarr? I'm able to pilot, literally, everything t2 Amarr sub-capital except command ships.

HAC or BC. I am just in the middle of the Amarr Cosmos missions with my alt and have been done these 2 years ago with my main. For some plexes you must have an insane tank and since you are dealing with blood raiders you can also get neuted. For me, a passive Drake (for my main) and a passive Ishtar (for may alt) worked well. Ohh I forgot about Strategic Cruiser. They do quite well, so that's maybe the best option for you.

I appreciate the insight. Assuming Amarr ships, any particular one you'd prefer over the other when considering HAC, BC, or Faction cruiser?
Also, will the high-sec COSMOS IVs require a BS(and by that, my Paladin). Finally, if I buy a HAC/BC/Faction cruiser are there any gates limiting it to frigate/destroyer that you're aware of?

As far as I remember, all complexes permit anything up to battlecruisers hull (except command ships). So I guess the best bet would be a HAC or Strategic Cruiser. BTW even a HAC should be able to handle all level4 Cosmos missions. I finished most with a Drake when I still had very low skills.

Quote: For the last pocket of the Contested Amarr Bastion of Blood you need I think around 800DPS thank against Blood Raiders (600 was not enough for my Ishtar, though I could speed tank the damage after I killed the webbing frigates). And there are even one other complex which you need even a bigger tank for.
Wait, what? My Paladin has a Sansha/blood tank of 630ish with, with three hardeners and a faction repairer. A 4x hardener Sac only has a 356 repair rate against sansha/blood.

Well, I had the following setup with my alt, and did not even draw full room agro (1/3 of the rats attacked my main):
[Ishtar, passive] Shield Power Relay II Shield Power Relay II Shield Power Relay II Shield Power Relay II Shield Power Relay II
Dread Guristas Magnetic Scattering Amplifier Dread Guristas Magnetic Scattering Amplifier Large Shield Extender II Large Shield Extender II Large Shield Extender II
[empty high slot] [empty high slot] [empty high slot] [empty high slot] [empty high slot]
Medium Core Defence Field Purger II Medium Core Defence Field Purger II
Hammerhead II x5 Ogre II x5 Garde II x5
This has 631 DPS tank (with my alt) against Blood Raiders and was about to fail just before I killed the scramming/webbing rats. After that it held since I could circle around something and the speed reduced the incoming damage. So yes, you need an insane tank for that room.

Alright. And for normal usage? Dropping from a 600 dps tank to a zealot 150tank(or sac 350tank) sounds dangerous. Obviously you've mentioned the harder rooms, but did you have to fit the same for all the other missions or did you refocus on dps?

For the missions and other plexes/rooms 300-400DPS tank should be enough, especially if you move, circle around something.

My main was rather frigate focused when I did the COSMOS missions, so I used a Harpy for the Caldari missions and a Wolf for Amarr. Not the fastest way of getting things done, but it works and was sufficient to get Michi's and Akemon's implants...
If I were to re-do them, I'd go with a pimped cruiser of some kind. Either a Gila or Tengu would do nicely.

Just remember to watch your drones when you use a drone boat. In the "public" missions you have no indication if an NPC is not firing at you because he is firing at a different pilot or at one of your drones.
Also, some Minmatar missions were locked for anything higher than cruisers (even T2 IIRC). So keep an AF or cheap cruiser nearby.

Did this a long time ago. Isn't this the one where there are some minnie BS in the end? Did they change them to bloodraiders in a patch? I still have one of the keys - I think I bought the item back then...
Back then I assumed that the high alpha was due to minnie bs using explosive dmg.
