Edited by: NuetBankAlt on 19/06/2010 01:45:26 After reading and knowing how annoying those jita double your isk spammers were, i figured i'd give it a try for myself just as a little entertainment. Most people were either smart enough to send 0.1 isk and leave it at that or either double their own isk.
Crime: Double your isk spamming Punishment: Return of all isk that i scammed :(
The crime was pretty simple. Every 20 seconds or so i would spam the following message in local.
"I'm not quitting eve today but i had a good trading day and made 23 billion. I'm feeling real generous so i'm doubling any isk anyone sends me. (Only xx.x billions left)"
Usually i would spam it after putting a simple "User Name (linked) <- Isk Sent". Most people that recieved anything quit after 1-2 transfers so i thought this was a really bad idea. Eventually i hit the jackpot.
A user named Victim 1(Forum rules) started the sequence. His 100 isk transfer continued doubling until 1.6k. He took what seem like forever to send another transfer. My wallet flashed and i saw the transfer (1 million and 1.6k). Since i was in it for giggles and not really profit, i kept doubling till 4 million. At this point i did not have the isk to keep so i tried a little short changing. His 4 million isk sent turned into a 4k return. His praises in local were enough to kickstart 2 or 3 other real people. by this point i owed him 1 million and 100 isk. He tried convoing me but i refused and he sent a non-aggresive message that was not what i was expecting for someone who had just got some isk stolen from him.
Victim1's praises of my truthfulness turned into another user (Victim2). He had obviously more trust in me and began with 1 million isk. I doubled it until i sent 4 mill and he returned 3. I figured right now would be as good a time as any for a quick shortchange. I sent 6k and waited for what seemed like eternity. His next transfer made me almost die in laughter (6 million isk). I did the same thing and he finally caught on. Since he was also praising me, he ended up bringing me my last victim. By this point, i owe Victim2 6 million isk.
My last victim was a character called Victim3. The poor guy began with 2 million isk and eventually doubled until 8 million isk. Since i did not have the money to double that (i'm poor, deal with it) i sent back a 16k return. He eventually tried again attaching reason saying to give him HIS 16 mill. Eventually he got up to 800k. When i doubled that, i got 160k back. He was trying to scam me (bad boy). I can play that game with a smile xD.i sent 3.2k back and announced in local he had gotten 3.2 million back.
By this point i had 11 million from 3.4 million i had started with. Not bad for 1-2 hours' worth of work. It was rather fun and good to learn.
Simple tips for fooling scammers - Don't just send money unless you can afford to lose it. - If you're trying to double what they send you, don't add extra isk. - try shortchanging them :) (they're trying to scam you anyways) - Check your wallet after each transfer (short changing is so easy) - Don't trust anyone
Punishment: As the day was ending (not really but this was rather boring after a while), i figured i should return the isk. Each victim recieved a transfer with the isk they got scammed for.
The transfer had a message included with this forum link on it. This thread was posted with an alt (for obvious reasons). It was fun while it lasted and i might actually try this again.
Part 2 coming sometime in the future

hahahaa, **** you're stupid. Im victim 2 btw. I sent him 1 mill - he returns 2 - I send him 2 mills - he returns 4 = 3mill profit for me, so I sent him 3 mills and he returns 6mills. I send 6m and he returns 12k .... netto profit for me is 12k. dont " almost die in laughter " over this. total risk for me was 1 mill isk which is 1/12.000 of my liquid isk.
At least if u are bragging about your scams, plz have them successful and not just pathetic.

That's a terrible scam, especially to be spamming in somewhere like jita. If you're going for entertainment, try doing something that involves local but doesn't involve repeatedly spamming local with the same message over and over.
For example, you could try an obvious scam contract somewhere (not jita), post it once, and when people start yelling about it being a scam, deny it. Insist that that raven you put up on contract for 400m is really a navy raven, and that either their eyes aren't working, they're too stupid to recognize a good deal, or they're just trying to discredit you because you're undercutting their marketing alt. Act shocked that they could possibly think you're a scammer, and point any names they call you right back at them for having the chutzpa to make such wild accusations against you. Maintain a semi-professional demeanor at all times, use an extended vocabulary (leave a browser window open to a thesaurus if necessary), and do your best to convey and attitude of elitism and pity for their obvious ignorance.

I meant laughter-wise at people falling for such an obvious scam. I could make a lot more than that ratting in high sec even.

I suppose I was victim (sic) number 1.
But i was playing the game with nuet here.
I started by sending him 10 isk... not 100 and kept it moving up to where i would soon be getting hundred thousands back and then millions if I choose to go further. The isk was almost entirely generated from him and if I had taken it and run i would have had 3/4 double the profit from my investment.
The idea was to get the scammer to pay me for the help. It has worked for me before with minimum input.

Actually its terrible, 90 million per hour for harvesting c320 with 5 t2's, 180 million dual boxed, setup costs are rather more though.
