Ninja's eh?
Asume only one thing, they want you to shoot them.
Just because they are in something like a vigil (cant remember what 'mecross' was in when he came to a mission site of mine uninvited) But he did signpost his intentions. Stole something from a wreck and just waited for me to shoot him....lol, long wait.
He proberly had his Pvp duel neut, dual plate tempest in the same system too.
And since the mission nerf atleast we know one thing for sure now, ninja's definitely arnt there for the loot.

Srsly. To all these carebears: back in the day, carebears had no "defense of property" rights. Be glad you have what you do.

You seem to have a series of fundamental flaws in your understanding of the very core of the personality of this game. Let me straighten a few of them out for you.
Originally by: Jagged Bluetooth
In a game where you employ marketing analysts etc to make eve as real as possible..isn't there something fundementally wrong promoting theft. ie you allow these people to be dishonest and they then can't tell the difference in real life !!????
They don't employ analysts to make it more real. They employ analysts because this game has a very complex and dynamic mostly player driven economic structure and they want to have an idea of what will occur with said market when they make major changes. Its about keeping the system balanced and functional, not about realism.

5 years and still growing strong, and that's mostly because the mature players get it. They understand how the system works and embrace it. Also, when it comes to pvp in Eve, its all consensual, when you undock you are agreeing to engage in pvp.

Seems to be working as intended, and the fact that someone like you who just doesn't get it is coming to the forums, whining and complaining and going to leave and go to another game just lends more evidence to this.
Sorry to come off harsh. Eve is a harsh cruel world, learn to live in it or you are going to die a lot. If you don't like it, go play another ****ing game. ---------------------------------------------- There is no honor in war, only victory and defeat

lulz I don't remember that but ok, even better. Even before can flagging they made secure containers as a first iteration to stop the carebear whining. I really don't see what the issue is.

As a carebear, I think the system is fine with one exception: pirates should not be able to loot the mission objective(s). Looting/ransoming/can flipping the mission objective is truly griefing and the item tends to have no value for the pirate (other than denying the mission runner).

I think secure containers were in from the start. CCP resisted can flagging because of the problems they knew it would cause. Before can flagging all you had was boring ore theft whines. You couldn't scan missions out quick enough for it to be profitable even after can flagging first arrived. This was at least two scan mechanic changes ago and dead space also offered protection against scanning.

Eve is an *******s paradise and it always will be.
However its a big place so as in real life try and avoid them (difficult as you can see from the replies to this post, they are everywhere) even if it means using a lower quality agent in a quieter system for your hi-sec dealings.

This is EVE. Every single in game method of earning money other than stealing/extorting it from other people will tag you as a carebear, and make you a target for EVEs lovely community of true sociopaths. And no matter what happens, those fine members of human race will keep claiming that its entirely your fault.
There is safe way to get ISK, buy it, use PLEX if you want to be safe and legit. Much better option would be to quit EVE and never look back, and tell everyone interested in game that it is completely broken and supports only deviant and sociopath players and punishes everyone else.
Anything else is just unmasked masochism.

You illustrate my point very well. Read the short stories about the morally upstanding pillars of society that populates EvE.
If you you play a vampire game players will try to suck your blood and what not. If you play a war game players will constantly try to kill you with any means possible. If you play Hello kitty players will.. well I don't have a clue what they do there but it probably much more morally acceptable than whats going down in EvE.
Try not to confuse how players interact with you in a game with who they are IRL

You simply have to understand the distinction between action performed in the game, as a part om the game, and other actions that are not considered part of the game and that breaks the rules/EULA etc.
If I were playing a first person shooter and someone shoots at me, that does not mean that this player would shoot at me if we were to meat IRL, right?. On the other hand, if I went into voice-comms and started to verbally abuse fellow players that would not be ok as that is not a part of the game.
Lul wut?! so you can shoot other players but you cant swear at them!!?! Exactly, don't confuse gameplay with other actions not considered part of the game. Its really very simple.

Fundamental difference between EVE and a normal multiplayer shooter or whatever, where you can shoot/maim/teabag "enemy" players; is that assets in EVE are losable and take effort and time to obtain. You kill someone in CS:S and they respawn for next round; you kill someone in EVE and it might take them hours or dozens of hours of souldestroying ISK grind to get back to where they were.
And a lot of "PVPers" (quite intentional using quotation marks around that) don't fight for victories or loot, they fight for "tears". That is a bit disturbing imho.
Anyway, to OP, you fly a Golem or wte. and still haven't figured out that shooting at ninjas is bad thing(tm)?

The normal pattern is that pirate destroys victim -> Victim goes ballistic in local and/or eve-mail:
ôpirate must be gayö
ôpirate has very small manhoodö
ôpirate is <long list of derogatory names>ö
aka tears.
I think its easy to see how this attitude of ôkilling for tearsö comes as an reaction to this type of constant abuse.

What? I declare shenanigans. This char was made the same week pretty much, and I don't remember secure cans being around until a while later. I could be mistaken and just not realized they were in the game then, but I'm pretty sure they came in maybe a few months after? Whatevs. Doesn't matter. Fact is, they have crap to use to mitigate the risk but they don't use it.

The way I see it, for a game to be interesting, there has to be an imminent risk of losing something. I used to play a FPS game on ladder. There were matches against other squads that were very prestigious. You really did not want to die and let your team down (no respawn). And when the first spot on the ladder were on stake there was definitely something to lose. A lot of ôhard workö had gone into acquire that spot.
Another PvP MMOG I used to play have campaigns going on for several months and there were some epic whining going on when morale broke on either side. So the concept of losing something you been working hard to achieve is not unique for EvE

Pretty much. In real life I drive around looking for car accidents so I can pull by and steal some hubcaps and CD players before the cops show up. I even added floodlights to the front of my car so I can get behind someone, blind them, and have free reign over the resulting wreck. In case the guy's already unconscious, I always carry a cooler for any vital organs I can grab; organ sales are where the real money is at tbh.
OMG, hilarious.

LOL, how poetic. Truly, dedication towards their game is beyond comparison.
I think they NEED analysts because they made the mistake crossing the threshold of RL/ingame currencies. They want to be sure noone is able to beat the system easily, lest they want to run out of business. :D

To those who attack mission players in high security space.
There is no glory destroying a mission ship as is in beating up a defenseless child, you know in advance what he is fighting there for what is his weaknesses and strengths.
pVp Players that roaming and attack missioners in high security are cowards ,knowing that doing mission there is no need for warp jammer ,there for they know when the fight donÆt go the way they expected they can always escapee.
To CCP this trend started approximately two years ago that unaccomplished pVp players started using the game mechanics like a lawsuit.
New pVe ignore them and they will go away they are not there for your loot only for you
Non the les this is a great way to discourage new players from playing hence they canÆt enjoy the gamy

anything to protest CCP failing at management to make the game better for us vets. There's 1, repeat 1, frigate in the T1 lineup designed to be a suicide tackler. the rest are for COMBAT. so don't tell me to tackle when I'm in a combat T1 frig. OR tell CCP to fix their mess. |
