This is going to make me hated among the NSA council I fear, but I may aswell make it my "resignation" from MLM and the NSA in general. And probably EVE in its entirety, aswell.
While I haven't been able to play eve in anything but a chatroom for near-on 3 months now, I have been paying attention to the political side of things, both ingame and inforums. And all I can say about the situation is as follows:
The future is bright, the future is Evol.
For months we've battled for a unified north. Thousands upon thousands of man hours have gone into making the north safe, billions of ISK has been plunged into it, and I fear that it is going to be wasted by the people it was for.
There were 5 regional alliances at the start of the war. BoB has systematically destroyed each and every one (F-E, you're next.) by turning every single person against his compadre's. We've all followed blindly in the direction they are heading by remaining divided. I kind of feel bitter against BoB for doing what they've done - but at the same time I stand in awe, for what they're doing I believe is *right,* in a way.
Lets take china as an example, for why. For hundreds of years china stood as multiple countries, warring and divided. But then a single emperor took each in turn, and the result was one of the most advanced civilisations of the day. Unity in the north would be an *awesome* thing, and BoB seem to want it.
The thing is, they've proceeded to **** off almost everyone on the way. They don't have anyone to populate the area anymore. I kind of believed that they had intended the corporations that eventually came under the NSA banner to populate "their territory" and looking at the recent proposals offered, this kind of backs up that theory. But they've turned far too many friends against eachother in the process.... and I'm wondering now who they'll let take control.
Regarding NSA: I feel that we've lost any hope of holding out. Once we were together as an alliance, we fought and died well. But even then I feel we wouldn't of had a chance against the 23hr PVP machine that is BoB.
I fear we've passed up the opportunity of a lifetime - existing in a peaceful north.
They WILL succeed.
I sign off with the following thoughts:
"The spacecraft has apparently been taken over û "conquered" if you will û by a master race of giant space ants. It's difficult to tell from this vantage point whether they will consume the captive earth men or merely enslave them. One thing is for certain: there is no stopping them; the ants will soon be here. And I for one welcome our new insect overlords. I'd like to remind them that as a trusted TV personality I could be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar caves."

BoB is the water that seeps into the cr@cks of the mountain that is an alliance. we do not make the cr@cks, they are already there, but when the frost of conflict comes we shatter that mountain.

A unified north is meaninless if all you going to do is mine together, and make isk ultra-safely. EVE is a game and all the political shenanigans are what keeps it interesting (but even then the constant backstabbing is getting old)
The north is never going to be unified its always going to be a contenous hot-spot for wars, betrayal and lots of ship destruction. Venal is still afterall cursed.

A unified north is meaninless if all you going to do is mine together, and make isk ultra-safely. EVE is a game and all the political shenanigans are what keeps it interesting (but even then the constant backstabbing is getting old)

You're the CEO of a self professed anti-pirate corporation..
wouldn't you rather see BoB and the rest of the north take on a unified stance against a pirate alliance, instead of dragging former friendships through fecal matter?
a unified north, does not mean a pacified one, just a change of target priorities.

One thing to consider, if a unified North was a part of nsa's agenda, why didn't they say yes to bob's proposal.
