Being a game dev isn't about just writing epic blogs, but it's just maddening sometimes when they are unable to form the words, backed by the actions, that would make you and I collectively **** in our boxers. Zulu isn't very smart.
The person who wrote the first post may not be either. However, compare Zulu's blog and OP's post and OP's brains > Zulu... therefore, hire OP, fire Zulu... That easy.

Even Zulu with a hangover doesn't need a week to write a feeble shred of an excuse like that devblog. You might want to consider that it was somewhat... polished by Team :Awesome: before we got to see it.
Which would also explain why the CSM didn't get to see it first.
Malcanis' Law: Any proposal justified on the basis that "it will benefit new players" is invariably to the greater advantage of older, richer players.

Oddly enough, it sometimes seems as though they write better blogs than game code.

I guess the question now is:
Is the CCP listening?
Do the CCP have a plan? A vision or a vague idea of how they are going to be carrying on in future?
And can you please run future Dev Blogs by the CSM for the time being? One of the most important ways they are valuble is that they help you communicate with us. And that could use some buffing atm. Ex CSM member & Designer of the Tornado. Gallente - Pilot satisfaction |

writing down high level plans is so easy (thats one of the reasons why the world has money making consultants without any prior experience).
tick tock? are you working for intel?
seriously, stop this crap. Thats at the end just advanced trolling. It does not help anybody. If you want to change something try to get a position at CCP. You can't help a project without knowing the project. You fail you fail you fail you fail you fail you fail you fail to jump because you are cloaked |

Issler Dainze wrote:the refusal to do even simple balancing with major classes of weapons like blasters. Quite funny about this... yesterday I was doing a mission with my gaming group's leader. He had a Rokh loaded down with Railguns, I had a Maelstrom armed to the teeth with 1400mm Howitzers. There was one point where we were firing at different NPC Battleships, and he took out his target and half-way shredded the next before I finished mine, and I'm used to Artillery being pretty devastating (I was using Phased Plasma, by the way, just so it's clear I was actually using ammo of comparable damage and damage types to Antimatter). We have rather comparable skills in Gunnery, too, so it wasn't that. He just was dominating at range, and quickly, with Hybrids.
Granted, my anecdote involves Railguns and not Blasters, which is what you mentioned (not to mention it is a PvE situation, not PvP where balance is more important)... So maybe Blasters still need work. But Railguns certainly seemed pretty vicious then, and it's not like ships give bonuses just to Blasters and not Railguns. |

Pattern Clarc wrote:Continuous patching has problems including forcing players to wait several minutes once every few days before logging in.
Better than waiting several days every couple of months, IMHO. It would be especially nice if cosmetic changes could be downloaded on the fly.
Pattern Clarc wrote:But to be honest, don't get caught up on the specifics. I wanted to show what a CCP would/should do if they had a plan. The lack of "where are we going, and how will we get there" is the issue atm and the OP was one example of how this could be presented.
The issue is the lack of a plan, not the lack of presentation of a plan. It seems to me that the captain wants to steer the ship to El Dorado across the uncharted oceans, the crew want to keep the ship sailing the route between the twin coastal cities of Pew-Pew and OMG-Lazors. Right now they're becalmed with sails reefed, playing rock-paper-scissors to figure out what happens next.
