So heres whaat happened. THis guy waas in rens local, asking for mission help. He had lost his failfit thrasher a few times, and said the mission was really hard. It was a l2, but he seemed distressed so i brought my cane. i warp in, go to the gate, warp.......
And find this:
5x Machriels
3x destroyers with only 1k hp
4x frigates
I pop frigs and dessies, but the Machriels..... Hitting 400 volley every 3 seconds. From 5.
I warp out and im in half aramor on my shield tanked cane. I go in my 1.5km/s stabber...... get pwned, into 20% structure. The gate you need to get to is 62km away. i made it 40km.
The machriels were the real ship, with the real amount of shiled, armor, and structure, but the guns were heeled. So i couldnt kill them, not even in supercane, and i couldnt speedtank them, not even in faststabber.
TL;DR
It was a l2 mish with HUGE DPS
It hurt my cane
It almost popped my stabber
Some noob lost several thrashers to it
It was called the secret spy or something.
My point:
WTF is this doing as a l2 mish?

This sounds suspiciously like one of those grab-thing-and-get-the-hell-out missions that are designed to kill you if you hang around.

The object of it was to get to the gate that was 60km away, jumpm through, and kill the guy on the other side.
But yah, i know wut ur talking about and it wuznt thaat.
CCP do u have an explanation?

sounds like a job for a cloaked covert ops....not that a lv 2 player (well new one, not an older player grinding for corp standings) would have one ofc
Odd mission. Wonder if any chance the mission space allowed for mwd ??? sounds like only way for a newb to do it.

Sound exeactly like The search party part 2.
Object is to kill the 6-8 mil isk boss.
They are still giving it as a lvl 2 mission?

"The search party part 2", definitely!
Room #1 is clearable with a BC but room #2 is kind of tough!
Anyway I think it's a bug that it also pops up as storyline for L2 and L3 while it's typically a L4 storyline. Seems to give great drops & rewards though.

Huh. That's odd. I think if I had ever run into that around the time I was doing L2s I would have ragequit.
Anyway I hereby retract my "I bet he didn't read the mission text" passive-aggressiveness.

The Search Party (2 of 2), as the name implies, is part 2 of a storyline. And, as the implant reward implies, it's an L5 storyline.
Huh, I hadn't heard a peep about it for a while, but I guess it's still out there?

I know that mission though I forget what it is called. If I remember right you burn though to the far gate and you do not shoot anything because when you engage the 1st time they keep comeing almost lost a ship in that one.

Yeah, I remember this mission. You're supposed to burn like crazy with AB to the far jump gate and there are huge swaths of enemy forces all around. I remembered once, I decided to be rambo and engaged and pulled the bad guys out of position. I kept getting killed after that because then the enemies were now close to the gate when I jumped with my catalyst. I second the notion that you are not supposed to fight here, just run the blockade.
There's another mission with a mining station corp where you dont want to shoot anything or you get creamed.
Best chance....sleep on it, wait for the mission to reset after downtime and run it again in a fast frig.
