We just concluded a corp v. alliance war, with about 1050 people participating and pvp combat every single day, usually every hour, and I haven't had any of those problems. It could very well be issues with your ISP or your computer, because it's not happening here (Virginia, US) to me. ----------------------------------------------- Coalition Kill Board

EVE has problems with hardware sound acceleration with just about every chip I've tried except for Soundblaster Audigy. You can resolve this by going to the DXsetup in your Direct X folder in your Programs directory. Either you dont have your ship setup right or your a newb trying to be a vet. Either way give it some time and then try. Youll find that eve is still the greatest game out there and quite enjoyable. And when I'm freaked about it I'll let my char learn a long time skill and gonna do something else, but in a matter of days I'll be playing eve again allright.

No other game (whether MMO or standalone with online multiplay) behaves like this, or no other software I run for that matter. Im sure this is not what some of you would like to read, however it is my experience right now, and has been for several months Since I started PvP 9mths ago I have lost many more ships to lag than inexperience or stupidity. For me this is not acceptable. For others who may not experience lag/bugs in the way described here, bully for you. In the meantime, EVE is getting slower and slower, adding more hardware will not solve the problems, just make it harder to find the bottlenecks, and further entrench CCP into continuing with their current code base/architecture. We're not doing the EVE playerbase any favours by keeping quiet, just the anti-whiners would get upset for having nothing to flame. Now, back to the lag...

I play EVE maybe 3 hrs every other day, I have some kind of lost connection (I played EnB & SWG, nowhere near as many connection problems) or CTD about once or twice during that 3 hour window. EVE is not the most stable MMO I've ever played... The lag in this game prevents PVP from being what it's supposed to be. It's a fundamental game flaw, and will be with us until the servers go down... My last PvP encounter was me bouncing off a gate a bunch of times (autopilot jumping... autopilot jumping... autopilot jumping...), not able to control my ship as I watched it get wasted. Where is the fun in that? I can't even try to fight back... CCP had to give my ship back to me, along with many other players because they knew it was their fault... I don't have all of the problems the original poster described, but the connection issues & lag is a back breaker sometimes, makes you want to go play something else... ------------------------------------------------ "for piece sakes!"

(Zap, Madcap, Teel, Bob etc. pass the message on and I'll be back when I start Xmas holidays on the 24th December.) 2) Exodus was a huge patch with it's problems and I would rather take a break now while server stability and playability issues are sorted. i.e. I still see ships "rubber-banding" at gates and the lag in systems with more that me in it gets dull after a while. So, without referring to any individuals, I say if it's getting you down, just set a long skill, take a step back and find something else to do for a bit. Afterall, they say a change is as good as a rest........
