STATION
Every time I leave the station or the game, my windows return to default (or what I believe to be default). The chat window is in the lower left, a combined items/ships window in the center (I do not have the checkbox to combine them checked), and a station tutorial in the lower right. Opening my cargohold opens a window dead-center on the screen.
The chat window reverts to default size and position if changed.
The ship/items windows will re-merge and position to default if changed.
Aside from the fact that the tutorial cannot be navigated, it will reappear at default position every time I enter the station/game.
Cargo will retain a new position (though resize) if I leave station and return, but will return to default (not present) if I leave the game and return.
SPACE
Overview defaults to the selector window open and overview closed when leaving station/game.
New 'overviews' (selecting asteroids, etc) disappear when leaving/return base/game.
Cargo window opened in space will not return to position when leaving/return base/game. ---------------
Does anyone have a relatively permanent solution to these issues? Prior to today I was able to save overviews, position *some* windows and have them maintain position, and had no relentless tutorial.

I tried deleting everything in my cache directory.
As far as I can tell, the only things that save from my settings are: 1) Size and placement of chat window 2) Which ship I was last using 3) Which skill I was training
Everything else reverts to default when I enter or leave a base or the game.
My cargo hold window remains in position so long as I do not close it or switch ships. My overviews settings reset, saved setting disappear, whenever I leave a base. My character sheet will maintain size and position so long as I do not close it before going into or out of base. There is a station tutorial that appears in default size and position every time I enter base. My market quickbar loses its data every time I leave base. Though I have unchecked the items/ship merging in the escape menu, these two always revert to stacked in the center.
Is anyone else having this problem since the server-side patch on the 14th? Any known work-arounds?
All bios/card drivers are current. The game worked flawlessly before the patch. |

A friend of mine had a problem similar to this and he just found out that his computer clock was causing the problem .. it was set a year ahead. Not sure if its same bug or will help you but worth checking maybe.

A little more information. I have reaffirmed all drivers as current and done a total uninstall/reinstall with the 3106 full build with no apparent affect.
I noticed that if I check/uncheck a box in the escape menu, close the window and reopen it.. the change was not saved. All other issues previously mentioned are still there. Nothing but the ship I'm using saves between sessions, but the chat window will maintain size and position between dock/undock (though not between sessions).
However, I still have all my bookmarks (though not the folders they were in). I had thought these were kept on the client, but I guess not. At any rate, any new ones are not saved, nor are any folders or deletions.
If anyone has any idea what I can do to have my character settings save (beyond my ship and ideally my skill training), *please* help. Any suggested workarounds in lieu of a permanent solution? I'll go nuts if I have to readjust everything every time I dock/undock/switch ships!

Ye gods! The clock! I'm at work now so can't check, but I *was* messing with the clock/calendar looking at some upcoming travel dates! Thank you for this ray of hope!

This was exactly it. My year was ahead one and none of my settings were saving as a result.
Thanks!

My pc is having the same issue. But in my case, when i try to run 2 characters the windows only save in one (what ever one i close last) It can be a bit of a pain having to move and resize windows everytime i get into the game. If someone can help me with this issue that would be great. :) If it's a bug, i hope they fix it soon.. please...
