England: God's given right to overhype their football team every year. One day the bubble will burst..... hopefully? Then you might get better again.

4-1 rofl, even if it had been 4-2, still one of the worst defeats for Britain in a while.

At last, we may see an end to that tatty England flags, I don't think their was any doubt Germany would win as England have been **** poor throughout the cup.
Bet the same will happen again next WC

Sorry my mistake. I have to agree with that, but the masses of sheep do follow it.

As someone already said, a goal that never was, does not cover up the clear fact we, England, as always fail to deliver. They were poor, lacked passion and Rooney especially needs to look at himself and wonder what went wrong. He was possibly the biggest letdown of all and should be ashamed.
Of course, he and all his overpaid teammates will not be ashamed, they don't care. They go home, back to their mansions and their bentleys.
That said, there will be no sour grapes from me towards Germany. They played better in all departments and the score in no way flattered them. We were beaten by a better team, simple as that. Premier league best league? Don't make me laugh......

It may well be, because how many foreigners are there that play in it? Take away the foreigners and its not all that great.

Edited by: Herufaia on 27/06/2010 19:18:15 Thank the lord for that result.
Now we only have to put up with:
a) the proletariat beating each other and smashing things tonight (3pm drinking start + england loss will tend to enrage the commoners - hopefully nothing of mine will be broken) b) a few days of sour faced idiots reading tabloids to try to work out "what went rung innit".
No more shrieking women and fat ****es clapping cheering, and yelling advice at a television set depicting players well out of ear shot
And life will be back to normal

Foreigners or not, I've never believed it's the best, lacks the tactical depth of the Italian league, the organization of the German and Dutch leagues, more so German, and the Spanish league beats it in terms of quality.
I'm English and I've never believed it was the best, fastest maybe and more physical, but not the best at all. In fact if you look at the fixture list on a Saturday afternoon and there'll be a couple of games that look like they might be great but more often then not fail to deliver, the rest will be poor fare.
I blame the press for the hype that surrounds the game in this country, as for the England team the players should be ashamed but I doubt they will be, like some one else mentioned the mansions and Bentleys will help them get over it.
I think it was after the last world cup when we were dumped out, and not long after Joey Barton took the p1ss out of the players, something along the lines of them all releasing autobiographies and all they'd done was manage to not win a world cup, for all Bartons faults as a person and player, he might have been onto something.
Either way, the international side is just f**ked and I honestly don't know what it will take to sort it out.

i watch the game on tv and i did see the lamperd goal the refere is rly stupid if he did believe that the goal wus not count however i dont think that it would have matered even if it counted bcus germany was up by 4 at end of game and if goal allowed it would be ger 4-2 eng ger would still win and if it is up to momentum keep through entire game u would see at other england games that they did sortof poorly only goals scored by gerard defoe and lampard through entire wc i do think that in the past england have better team then what they have now and even with this victory i think that germany will lose to argentina

Too bad Brits.
Americans can always shrug and say "We never REALLY cared. Its just a boring game for liberals and immigrants." And the rest of us go back to waiting for the NFL season to start.
For the Brits....well, I suppose you can still beat the Germans in cricket, amirite? Pip pip, tally ho.

If England topped their group they would have been put in the easier half of the knock-out draw, and surely would have made the semis as they wouldn't have had to play any of the big favourites (they'd have played Ghana, and then Uruguay).

Seems to me the scots DO give a rats ass about the english football team. Enough to rant on again and again about them given any opportunity and enough to print up some racist tee shirts - which subsequently get banned
Really is time to stop handing our cash to them and let them muddle along on their own for a while. They will come crawling back.
