It's quite fun to fly T1 meta 0 fitted Rifters even with old characters.

Originally by: Cobalt Sixty I tend to roll out a new character every year or so, selling on the previous one when I do so. The last time I really started "fresh" was when I could begin with approximately 800,000 SP which - I stress, is only my personal opinion - was much better than the current low starting sp/100% training bonus in that I could literally start with a Frigate pilot (indeed, almost a Destroyer pilot) ready to go, practically with Tech II small guns (short of a skill book) and decent supporting skills as soon as I logged into it for the very first time. It felt much, much more streamlined.
(Also, rockets weren't complete crap then /bias)
Now I look at the "learning skill wall" and I'm left feeling like I have to sit and wait for some very preliminary skills to count down before it is even worth my thinknig of undocking.
I'm happy that the tutorial is much, much improved upon - which is good, but I don't think it outweighs the complete junking of the old character building process.
The 800k was way better. Anyways for starting out new charters like this all one has to do is plan a month in advance train all the learnings whilke playing their main and then jump on the new character. That way you get the experience without out the awful learning pain. -Jin Nib Trading on behalf of Opera Noir since: 2009.03.02 03:53:00

I loved my first days in eve, busting my ass off for my very first cruiser... thinking 5 million isk was rich! And oh my god i felt like i won the game when i finally got my battleship lol. Now with a billions, throwing away battleships is meaningless. Games are so much more fun when you have to work for your success, instead of just having a huge pile of money... it becomes trivial to lose capitals even...

Thanks to Steams cheapo account, I decided to grab yet another account. Being a noob makes you feel rather weak and feeble, going to see how much isk I can get via being a ninja looter
Wonder if I can get enough isk in a month for a plex

Much as I praise you for giving this a shot I found the old feeling I used to have is totally gone from eve.
In 2003 I managed to travel for several days without seeing another player, no hub routes made for very long travel. Now there are people in almost every last corner, the feeling has totally gone.
It seems to me to just be a chore to start all over again, so cross training was where I went and am now exploring 3 whole new races of hacs, recons and tech 2 and 3 ships.. it is at least fresh.
good luck to yaz Proving natural selection and Charles Darwin wrong since 1981.

I did this about a year ago with a friend of mine who was just starting. The only difference was I transferred isk from the main to the new toon for the learning skills and implants. Then we didn't play the toons for about 3 months (learning skills and cybernetics to 5). After that we actually started to play the game.
We both had a blast for a long bit. We did a lot of mining, a little bit of mission running, and some really funny PvP. Reminded me of the days when I was a new player to the game 6 years ago. -The Trading Alt- |
