Very unhappy. My highest skilled character is no longer in use! Hasn't been for months. The only reason I don't delete it is because I may legally transfer it to someone one day. ôRemember this. Trust your eyes, you will kill each other. Trust your veins, you can all go home in peace.ö

It must be very difficult to have those skillpoints assign to the next toon you choose at login after the patch.
Super difficult even.

Well, probably because its a worthless gift if it can't be assigned to a character I'm actively training. WTF good is 100k SP going to do for my hauler alt that will never see another day of training again. Not that I will miss terribly the 2 days or so training that would be applied to my active character, it just would be nice to give it to him.

It can't be fuschia because the redder wavelengths of that hue are not scattered enough to have that profound an effect on the overall sky color. However, periwinkle is quite close to sky blue.

Sun sets can cause colorations. Also the Sky can turn red to blood red if you get enough dust and **** dispersed into the atmosphere, Usually you only see this effect in like I said sunsets and the moon. A large forest or field fire can disperse enough smoke to turn the moon red. A volcanic Eruption is a larger magnitude of dust so it has the capability to turn the sky red, maybe not the entire sky but the parts towards the horizon with the son at the right angle.
Edit: any of you here colorblind int he blue spectrum (if thats possible). We could ask you what color the sky is for you, but you probably think what your seeing is blue so maybe thats a stupid question. unless of course the blindness to blue doesn't effect the way you perceive something that is really the color you think is blue. like maybe its green to you and green is also true green to you as well type thing. I had a friend once that was colorblind forget what color he was blind to , didn't really ask him to much about it.

Im going to buy myself into T3 cruisers to ruin people's day all day long. There's 1, repeat 1, frigate in the T1 lineup designed to be a suicide tackler. the rest are for COMBAT. so don't tell me to tackle when I'm in a combat T1 frig. OR tell CCP to fix their mess. |

Yeah, on this account. Hauler has 14 mil SP, this character (the one I'm training) is at 6.5 mil SP.

Should really be for the actively training character. Now my miner will get it who will never train anything again. And the actively skilling char that actually lost the time due to the server problems gets nothing.
So no gift/compensation for me this time. Please change it for next time. Which will hopefully not come for a long time

..was not disappointed.

Actually, most people tend to forget the impact of evolution on the color of the sky. Rayleigh scattering DOES explain the wavelength of light we perceive, but not why its blue to us. A major factor is the temperature of the sun surface that determines the wavelength of its black body radiation. Only because the sun is like 6000K, our eyes are most sensitive for yellow and green light. (I know this is a bit of a tautology since if the sun had another temperature, the most frequent wavelengths found here during day would be different and thus also our eyes and what we would probably call "blue") In addition, all this can't explain why blue feels like blue feels and whether we all have the same "sky blue" experience...

CCP have very rarely given anything to compensate for long downtimes.
Now they decide to give us some SPs to make up for it, we get a ton of "bawwwwwwwwww wrong character" following the days of tinfoil about buying SPs.

You have to admit... it all does make for an interesting sociological experiment.
My hypothesis is that since all this QQing has started, alcoholism rates at CCP have gone up 5% to 10%. _______________________

I think that they have just developed a tool for GMs that makes easier for them to refund SPs (they don't have to assign SP manually to your skills, but give you just a pool of SP and then you will do the work), and this is just a masstesting for that.

On my alt with the training speed bonus i train at 3.5K sp/hour, which is close to 100K after 31 hours.

I will see your science content and raise you one answer of philopsophical discussion.
Why is the sky blue? Because sometime in antiquity someone decided that was the word that would be used to descibe that paritcular shade family of reflected illumination, and then convinced all his friends it was a good idea (probably with a club). The sky can be fuscia, if you're willing to break 10 thousand years of ingrained human behavior.
My guess is you'll need a pretty big club.
Hmm...philosophical discussion eh?
The question actually hinges on whether colour is a product of the mind or an inherent property of objects. While most philosophers will agree that colour assignment corresponds to light frequency, it is not at all clear whether the particular psychological phenomena of colour are imposed on these visual signals by the mind, or whether such qualia are somehow naturally associated with their noumena. Another way to look at this question is to assume two people see colours differently. That is, when X sees the sky, his mind interprets this light signal as blue. He calls the sky "blue." However, when Y sees the sky, his mind assigns green to that light frequency. If X were able to step into Y's mind, he would be amazed that X saw green skies. However, Y has learned to associate the word "blue" with what his mind sees as green, and so he calls the sky "blue", because for him the colour green has the name "blue." The question is whether blue must be blue for all people, or whether the perception of that particular colour is assigned by the mind. -----

With all the *****ing this has generated would be suprised if CCP bother to reimburse the player base again for overrunning downtime. They didn't have to anything at all and now they have its not enough...
Its going to be at most 100k and probably more likely 50k so stop whinging over it, its not going to make a fat lot of difference to anyone.

Edited by: Khannnnnnnnnn on 29/06/2010 11:28:42 I think some people are a bit miffed with getting offered skill points, its nice im sure, but some people have basically missed out in a whole day and a half of mission grinding, mining, etc. Thats something skill points wont replace.
It would have been easier to give every active account a day compensation at least, skill points to the highest SP toon is a disgraceful slap in the face. All because it means we dont have to wait an extra day to pay them, jeez louise.
