Are you going to replace the losses we suffered because of the autopilot bug or not?
I'm going to say you will, cause you're a company of people, people with integrity who know better.
Right?

Most bugs are created by patches & expansions mate.... The corker was back in trinity was it... when that came out many of those that first downloaded it ended up having their boot.ini file changed by the expansion and screwing their PC up if they restarted it...
CCP hasn't had the best track record for keeping the servers up as possible and bug free, or for keeping to their downtime estimates either. sometimes i really wonder how they made such a good game... ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Glad the bugs created yesterday are being addressed so quickly. Well another patch day 2morrow. Better set skilltraining appropriately guys!
Surely hope the lvl 1-4 lowsec issue is high on the fixlist too so I can start missioning again without being sent to lowsec constantly. And for the people who'd like to comment of people being scared of lowsec. I'm not, I'm in lowsec often to do exploration and pvp, but I prefer my pve in highsec thank you very much.

Glad to see you listened, and are quickly deploying fixes for these errors created in the last patch.
I understand errors come up when patching, that's just the name of the programming game, but how ever did Autopilot get messed? Did you guys play with the coding and not tell us? Just wondering.
And to everyone complaining about another DT, I feel your pain, but remember, we did get about 3days worth of SP for free the other day when the monster DT was only 1 day long.
PLEASE CCP:: Continue producing intermediate bug fix patches. Good job here, but KEEP LISTENING to your customers, there are SO many bugs it's assinine.

canned response inc :
"We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. At this point there is an error with the autopilot that will not avoid low security space even if "Prefer Safer" is selected. We are aware of it and an update is coming for it and is listed in the patch notes. A way to avoid this is to add the systems to your avoidance list and it should replot your path accordingly. Keep in mind you may need to add a few systems in order to generate the desired path.
Regrettably any losses incurred by this error is not something we can reimburse for. The routes generated are displayed on the left hand side of the client and do not hide the fact that a low or null security system is included in the path. "
I emphasized the part that is not working. Even if you avoid them all, it does not change your route at all.
I decided NOT to emphasize the parts that are insulting to the player base. Your welcome.

People are crying about downtime, really?! CCP is releasing a bugfix patch for issues that arose two days ago and you're complaining about a few hours of downtime? Christ, you cry about bugs, then cry when they fix them. Also, please poing me to an MMO that regularly sticks to it's predicted and reliable downtime. It sure as hell isn't WoW or Aion.
Thank you CCP devs for fixing these issues so quickly. It's a bit curious that something like the autopilot broke and was deployed to Tranquility, but the rapid response is appreciated.

Do you really think they have a QA team?
If they do have one, the guys on it are stealing their paychecks. There is NO WAY the AP bug should have escaped QA testing. The implications of this are not good. Not good at all.
Tomorrow's patch is welcome, even though it is likely to introduce new bugs completely unrelated to the stuff it's fixing. |

That's just the lazy mail/notification system. You actually only get the expiration notifications when you interact with the insurance system.
So it seems like all insurances expired when you tried to insure the Primae but in reality all insurances expired before you tried it and only the delivery of the notification was delayed.
You can see the same with notifications from R&D agents: you actually have to talk to them before they tell you "Dude, major setback - my database crashed"

1.5 days worth. It can be 3 days only for someone training at below 1400 SP/hour speed (worst remap, few learning skills and no implants). Just some clarification. Personally I never complain about playtime missed because of DT. Provided I have a skill training, I am ready and willing to wait as long as needed.

Thanks for proving that you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. The fact is, patches ARE tested, but there is no way to test EVERYTHING that the player base experiences in any reasonable amount of time. Sure the autopilot bug should have been found, but if they didn't change anything related to the autopilot (I can't confirm that) why would you waste time even checking to see if autopilot was affected by Tuesdays patch?
They don't have the man power to test what the hundreds of thousands of players "test" on live, be glad you are getting a fix two days later. My years of WoW playing have never been so forgiving.

You are right. You're a paying customer and as such, you have every right to stop paying for services that do not meet your standards. But, if you are going to complain AND continue to pay them, you really have done nothing but contradict yourself.
Money talks, QQ on the forums does nothing when you're still feeding them money.
I agree and have always voted with my feet!! So I am out of here and unimpressed with the performance.

How many testers would it take to find that the route calculation has changed unintentionally? Oh right, none! This should be caught by automatic unit testing!
And CCP developed that great stress testing framework (although this is not listed on the feature page of Tyrannis anymore), so they should be easily capable of simulating hundreds or even thousands of players.
Just because you like to explain people that they have no idea what they are talking about...

How much time does it take to test the full extent of player capabilities of EVE? Because it's easy, with 20/20 hindsight, to say "there, that didn't work" but it's not as easy to ANTICIPATE the UNEXPECTED errors. Keywords in caps. So to make sure everything is perfectly working you will have to test every single part of the eve interface, mechanics, math, interaction. And guess what? Even if you did, something would slip through. Something always does.
Also, how much time does it take to check your route once you set it? you get a bunch of little dots on the screen and it's extremely easy to figure out the losec ones. Yet many people did not.
Quote: Just because you like to explain people that they have no idea what they are talking about...
Just because you read the patch notes doesn't mean you know anything about testing. Yes, this should've been checked. Yes, they made a blunder. Is it a terrible quality assurance problem? nah. It's just one of the things that go under the heading of "**** happens".

That just proves one (or both) of two things: 1) that the code is such a mess that changes to an unrelated part of code messed with the autopilot code. 2) the their internal processes are completely flawed and they're not communicating the changes they make to the testers.
In fact, you could go further and ask why they didn't communicate any change (if a change was made), which would mean that they either don't know about the changes that were made, or they couldn't remember making the changes. Which to me implies that they're not effectively using source code control, or some other means of tracking the code changes that they make.
Alternatively, it could just mean that QA were slacking off instead of Dev slacking off!
Take your pick, it's one or the other.

I'd love to know what version of WoW some people on this thread managed to get a hold of, because I played the one where every single patch broke several major skills for each class (Arcane missile, anyone?) and where my server constantly crashed.
EVE is not any worse than other MMOs out there. CCP shouldn't have to put up with so much impotent nerd grief for finding their own mistakes quickly and working to fix them.

Why does it have to be mornings CST? Server goes down around 6am for me, which usually isn't a big deal because its back online before i need to go to work. Not the case with these extended DT. And with Tyrannis requiring a steady schedule of restarting extractors, its annoying that you guys **** with my chosen time so often. Why not start the patch early to finish as scheduled or something, just annoying that it goes until like 10am then i can't restart my extractors which causes me to lose a minimum of 30 million because of ****ed cycle times. Even if the DT is slightly longer it screws with planner. I'd say limit yourselves guys. It is one thing to update a software, its another to do every other day.

Some one touched it. You should cover your changes with unit test. End of discussion.
If you really think you need to test all of EVE just to make sure the calculation of routes is still working the way it worked before a change is made you really have my sympathy.

I can't say if it's Tyrannis 1.0.3 or just EVE itself, but I can't play. I *just* (these past 10 minutes) reactivated my account for the first time since 2007, and for the first time ever under OS X (10.6.3). After logging in, I got a neat intro the first time around, and then crash at the character selection screen. Subsequent logins don't show the intro but crash just as fast at the character selection screen. Not very promising... and my 5 days are counting down, I take it...

From an English point of view the DT is at 12 noon, meaning I cant play during my lunch break. You dont see me complaining. Think about the timezone the servers are in, then think what time you want them to bring them down for an hour (often less). If your extractors only come offline during an extended downtime, why not wait for a while, so that you are offset.

Hm. Is that pointing out that EVE for OS X isn't too stable (I wouldn't know, not having tried it before), or just a stupid Windows-fanboy statement? BTW, there was a typo above, I'm on 10.6.4. Anyhow; if I choose a character quickly enough I've been spared of crashes so far.
I do have a problem remaining, though: I can't open my mailbox.
"There is something wrong with the mail cache files. Try clearing the mail cache from the ESC menu and check that the hard drive is not full."
Needless to say I've tried clearing the mail cache (I get the same message when trying that), and also clear all cache, and my HDD is far from full.

Start your current copy of the client. Check in the top left hand corner of the splash screen and note down the number there. Open your browser, Copy and paste this link in the address bar; http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/server_status.php
Check the left column for TQ and find the number that matches yours, follow across the row to the patch and click to download it somewhere safe and where you can find it again (depending on your version of the client you may need more than one patch).
Double click the patch to start it installing, note when it asks if this is the correct folder to use, you are really installing it into the correct place, change if required. Install Run game.
NB: this can also be used to update SiSi from the right column if anyone needs the patches.

Hi ccp, couldnt find the issues thread. so im giving you a dash of feedback here instead.
Had some issues while travellign with a +100 fleet. The selected item wouldnt update as it approched gate. Had to repress the gate icon in overview/space to get the jump option. Another thing i noticed was that overview didnt load properly. I've got it set up for pvp n brackets off, but somehow it stopped showing neuts. Was a bit wierd seeing bombs fly around and not seeing the ships >.> Confirmed that neutrals did infact show on my overview during the op,
kind regards

I have noticed that in the last minutes of 1.0.2 before downtime. At first I thought it might have something to do with having the overview sort order reversed -- objects farthest away first (and possibly items not getting displayed in window due to window size not getting updated properly anymore?).
I am not sure either if it might have something to do with multiple "you are here" circles in map view?!

Indeed they were speedy, however the efficiency part needs some further improvement.
While the issue not allowing Oxygen and Water in the Primae's commodities hold was resolved another small detail was again missed. When sorting items by type in a corporate hanger Oxygen and Water are still sorted with trade goods rather than grouped with planetary commodities.
True greatness is in the details.
