Posted a bug report ALONG time ago about the small bug with this ammo. Got a reply that they are aware of it.
Basically it cuts your tracking with 50% instead of boosting it with 50%. It`s a simple typo.
Change the bonus from 0.5% to 1.5%, should be pretty easy yes?
Why does it take months to fix a small typo as this? Should be pretty easy to implement a small fix like this in a patch like the one comming up. Shouldnt it?

Actually the bug is in the description. Which is why it isn't exactly a high priority fix...

Uhh...did you fail high-school math?
1 x .5 = .5
THE NUMBERS WORK AS THEY ARE WRITTEN!!!!
If it was meant to be a boost of 50%, the bonus would be written as 1.50x
And no, its not a typo, its how Hail ammo has always been.

The bug is not in the typo, it is in the actual number.
Quote: Any pilot using this ammunition should be prepared to trade optimal range and capacitor energy for increased tracking speed and a devastating amount of damage.
Any normal person would understand that giving tracking penalty to a short range ammo is wrong.
Just for info, the barrage long range ammo has better tracking then the hail ammo....
Quote: If it was meant to be a boost of 50%, the bonus would be written as 1.50x
Thats the bug...
CCP has confirmed it to be attached to a defect in my bug report. Cant be much clearer then that?

wait what...? high damage ammos are supposed to be bad at tracking (or explosion radius) so they're only used against bigger targets. back in the day before (LP store) faction ammo, this actually made sense, too...
... and that was attached to a defect.....? - putting the gist back into logistics |

CCP said they are going to rebalance t2 ammo "soon" (so in next 2 years?). Prolly thats the defect they attached the change to. So nothing to get too happy about

This is the description for Hail ... I've bolded the important bit:
Quote: The Hail is an attempt to combine the penetration of titanium sabot with the versatility of a depleted uranium shell. It consists of a fairly large titanium sabot shell with a payload of depleted uranium submunitions. It has tremendous damage potential, but should not be used at long ranges. Any pilot using this ammunition should be prepared to trade optimal range and capacitor energy for increased tracking speed and a devastating amount of damage.
Can only be used by small tech level II+ Autocannons.

Since both Conflagration and Void have the exact opposite bonus, I would say that Hail has a error in its description thus not an actual bug (BH probably attached defect due to this error).
It is a good idea to include in a t2 ammo revamp, but to think that the one weapon system with practically no tracking issues whatsoever should be the only one with a bonus ... makes no sense even in CCP warped balancing reality
A 50% tracking bonus on all the close range would make them worthy contenders to faction ammo or at the very least bring it on par.

Attaching to a defect doesn't mean it's the defect you want. Could just be a typo defect. ---

Aye,
almost all t2 ammo options for any weapons platform include a lol-version that nobody uses.
It's actually harder finding good t2 ammo versions (spike is somewhat ok for rails, fury isn't aweful for HMLs)
Then you have your total lol-options like precision missiles (crap damage, speed and range! cute!) and void (no range, no tracking, terrible cap usage..wtf...maybe the occasional right-in-your-face-you-can-smell-their-cereal-breath blaster users can find use from it but I can't see the point)
Faction should be AN option not THE option. EVE Trivia EVE History

I thought CCp would have a reporting tool to see how much of every item is used for any given time period?
Not too hard to run a SQL script to return the rows of items bought/built/available in various areas
