Mass test upcoming. Start Sisi. Get popup that there's a patch available. Download and install. Get an error: Versions do not match. Found version 166321 when expecting 167296. Turns out the offered patch is for downgrading 167296 to 167260.
Where is http://content.eveonline.com/test/evepremiumpatch166321-167260_test_m.exe ?
Yes, yes, I know about the copy your TQ to your Sisi and download and install the TQ-to-Sisi thingy. Not going to do that because if I have to do that each and every time the Sisi patch system is bonkers again I would feel more like a system operator then a gamer.
Anyway, here's the workaround for those that have Sisi on 166321. Download and install http://content.eveonline.com/test/evepremiumpatch166321-167296_m.exe Don't start Sisi because it won't recognize that there's a patch available. Download and install, make sure to point it to your Sisi, http://content.eveonline.com/test/evepremiumpatch167296-167260_test_m.exe Start Sisi again. An optional client update is offered. Install it. Otherwise right clicking in stations won't work. Sisi restarts. Log in.

Don't you mean 163513? http://content.eveonline.com/test/evepremiumpatch163513-165711_m.exe will get you to 165711 and from there on check out this http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/server_status.php Or, instead, do the procedure as described in http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1267555 |

Just be thankful its not a "Re-install windows from trashed boot.ini" from every patch.
Seriously though, most other MMO's and rapidly evolving games use some kind of rsync launcher to validate client to server, how hard would it be to implement a system like this? Da Mank |

Ummm No the op is correct. Sisi patched yesterday as well. I am getting the same exact error.
Found version 166321 when expecting 167296.
I hate downloading the full thing every damn time. First they dont patch it for weeks then it's 4 times in a week.

Quxon, many thanks
It should not, however, be left to players to sort this out - this is what we pay CCP for!
Similarly, what is the point of a test server, where nothing is available for purchase to test? It's been what, 2 weeks now with nothing seeded on the market - poor effort!

Update - so updating to 296 then doungrading to 260 gets you back in (despite needing another patch to access right-clicking in stations). But still no market - thanks CCP!
Loads of stuff I want to test and no way to do it - this is becoming really useful! Why bother sending patches that dont work for a server that cannot fulfil it's only purpose?
Because CCP doesn't know HOW to provide proper, incremental patching and updates. As much as I love EVE, my personal opinion of CCP developers and their ability to code slides deeper and deeper into the sewers with each screwup.
I've been in the MMO gaming community for a very long time and very few companies I have dealt with and tested for fail so consistently as CCP does. None of their patches are consistent. few of their build links on their OWN PAGES work with actual builds. MOST of the mistakes they make seem to be caused by failing to simply quality check their production, before issuing it out.
All in all, I honestly think CCP often suffers from the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing, and neither knowing what the feet are doing and the head just simply being to stupid and ignorant to know how to guide any of the parts effectively.

Assuming that you're patching your Sisi (rather then your TQ!!) I would think that you're on 167296 already and that you need to manually download and install the following patches into your SiSi folder: http://content.eveonline.com/test/evepremiumpatch167296-167260_test_m.exe http://content.eveonline.com/test/evepremiumpatch167260-167549_test_m.exe After that you can start Sisi.

Yes, but... surprise, surprise... there's a new patch out:
http://content.eveonline.com/test/evepremiumpatch167260-167549_test_m.exe
Do add http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/server_status.php to your bookmarks. You might want to keep that website just one click away when fiddling around in Sisi :) |

And still there's sod all on the market so even if you CAN get on the server, there's NOTHING to test!
This is getting really frustrating - I'm really keen to test some WH setups but can't but the frickin stuff as it hasn't been seeded for weeks - WTF is the point of having a server active if you can't use it for it's purpose?
