it will never happen, and if it does a huge chunk of eve population will straight up quit.
first off, the character bazarr is a market, the more demand the higher the price, same with plex. this means that if your rich IRL and spend a million dollars on plexs the price will plummet there... your rational is cash->plex-> isk is faulty because the ammount of isk u will get depends on demand... an example is 2-3 years ago plex was about 200mil isk. now its almost 400mil isk.
buying SP will be at a static price which will damage the game mechanics for regular players, ruin the character bazaar, and lead to mass quitting. |

NO! Do you realize how stupid you sound considering "character bazaar" and "timecode bazaar" ? The only difference with my proposal is being able to skill up my character as opposed to using someone else's leftovers.
You also would get to choose your name. Countless recreation of corp theft characters with no history but huge skill point base. And endlessly increase the capital population "which is already inflated".
That is but a few reasons on a monolithic iceberg of problems this would introduce. You obviously have not spent enough time to properly understand how this game works. And for that reason alone, I can not take your opinion seriously.
Also what does buying game time have to do with your reasoning, and buying a character has many flaws to it. You receive that characters corporation history, their possibly sloppy skill placement, standings with NPC factions, old relations with other players, and most of all what ever name comes with them. Do not think for a second that buying a character is free SP. You may be able to fly ahead of a new character. But you pay a lot to do so, in more than one way. Not to mention the transfer of characters that are already in the system is not inflating the SP base.

Let me point out a few things.
(1) I don't like that you're trolling.
(2) That will never happen, approved by players or CCP
(3) This is eve not fuc king World of Dumbcraft where a bunch of junior high girl compare pretty armor.
(4) The thing that make eve superior is that you have to work for what you get and not be just a lazy a ss buy off.
(5) So shut up , stop complaining. If you don't like it, go play SIMS, or Everquest or something.
I would like to keep the little bit of dignity that Eve has left.

Many of you are forgetting the fact that money does not buy skill. It might buy skill points, but it doesn't actually buy skill.
Just because this new player buys a new account, buys a ton of skill points and buys a nice shiny new ship does not mean they are actually going to be good with it. They will almost for sure succumb to some sort of gate camp, wormhole exploration error or otherwise stupid decision.
Skill comes with experience, the longer you have played the more you have. |

Sadly that's just another side of the same coin. When I started this game in '06 it was very hard for new players. You were total crap having next to nothing in total sp, having to train base skills at an excrusiatingly slow rate because the learning skills were in the game. There was no sped up training rate to start with. And you liked it . . 
That is what made the game so worthwhile. It took time to get some competency in something. It made you realize the importance of choices when you realized that those industry skills were not going to help your combat character (or vice versa). Unfortunately all the changes have slowly eroded the investment aspect of character creation so now we get this open trolling for free sp (or easier sp).
Someone above in this thread also said they would have no issue with purchasing a "booster" for sp training time. That is really no different than the outright purchase of the sp.
And for those that still say blah blah character bazaar is buying sp anyway, I'm too tired to explain fully the flaws in that assertion. Do some searches on the shitstorm incarna launch threads that still sit on the forum archives (assuming CCP hasn't scrubbed them). I never liked the character bazaar and the thought of spending billions of isk to purchase an already trained character makes me barf, but there is a difference at least to the eve economy and gamepay in allowing that instead of outright rl cash for sp purchases.
Lastly, instant gratification is not what this game has been about. Although, sadly it has been slowly turning that direction. The day the company goes full ****** and fucks up the game beyond all recognition is the day I will quit. And, I will be far from alone in that action. And, no, all the instant gratifaction whores left in the game will not get our stuff. But, it probably won't matter because you will just be able to credit card purchase similar stuffs anyway. Regardless, CCP will realize then that whores do not have any long-term commitment and the game will quickly die. Not seeing a bright future for the P2W Dust and WoD in the CCP pipeline either. Maybe, the company, well management, will wake up. One can hope. |

If any feature in the game should allow for extra skill points other the trough skill training, it should be through game play, maybe a kind of leveling system gaining GÇ£XPGÇ¥ a like, this would also allow new players to catch up a bit to old players trough intensive game playing!

I do not agree with buying SP it's just a bad idea. However, maybe a remap if it's within the same group like "Gunnery", "Spaceship Command", etc. Perhaps a 10% loss of skill points too.

This has been reject a million times before because of one thing: No matter how many credits you attach to the price of an item or service, there will always be someone out there with enough money to buy it. You only need to look at the number of titans to figure that one out.
Or hell, the number of supercarriers. I mean, they cost 15 billion credits each right? But there's like, over 2500 now?
If it ever does happen, do not come crying to me when you get ganked a million times over by that one dude whom has 450 million SP and can whoop your butt twenty times over. It's just not going to happen. |

When you buy a existing pilot that pilot had to be skilled up over time. Because of that there is a limited supply.
But if skill points could be bought it would be possible for someone with a big credit card to make a unlimited number of high skill pilots overnight. He could do things like advertize "Join my alliance, get a 100 million SP pilot and we will take over Null!"
That's game breaking. Any way to purchase an unlimited number of game effecting items for $$ runs into the same issue.
CCP employees should never proclaim a feature to be awesome. Only subscribers should. |
