Hi CCP.
Do you have any plans to nerf the astronomical instant profits people are making on PI stuff they stocked up on prior to the patch... How was this missed by you? I am seeing numbers like 200 billion + profit and more for some peeps.
Yes I am bitter because I missed it!!!
Any comment from CCP on this? Or working as intended?

This happens at every expansion or major patch. Why would this time be different?

What they did was make all the pi stuff that was reprocessed before tyrannis into a different item. They are now called "broken X" (ie. Broken wetware mainframes). However, I believe if pos mods were made witht the renamed items before tyrannis, the pos mods stayed in game and were not deleted. So if you are one of the lucky ones that found out early and could produce pos mods at a fast enough rate, you probably did well.. unless you extensively overstocked the refined items.

On the other hand I knew the prices will rise for certain items (watter for example) and I did nothing because my Ferengi instinct failed me. Oh well... Time to get back to the game and find another way then |

Profit in Eve is like profit anywhere else. It isn't finite, and there is an aspect of prepared luck -- what seems like luck is actually basic principals and work put into motion before the "lucky strike" occurs.
People foresee an expansion, so they make an educated gamble on what to stockpile, expecting the markets to spike because it happens with each expansion. You see profits of 200b+ because these people also invested billions.
The educated capitalist would see this as a learning experience, and start planning for the next expansion, building capital so that the next time there is a change in the markets, you can take advantage of it, and you have capital to invest.
Remember that wealth is not finite - what one person makes is does not impede your ability to earn the same thing. Just like in real life - Laissez-Faire works every time it's tried.

Being one of those with massive NPC goods and already starting to sell some. I basicly agree with you. However a fix is not possible really.
But yes, CCP messed up epicly. I cant really understand how such a blunder could happen. If anything the SISI test should have used fake products that sounded like new addons etc.
Instead we could pinpoint and calculate profit on every single NPC sold product. Based against P level and NPC price.
But PI as I see it in the long run is just a fail. Its too boring for anyone to keep up. Most people give up rather quickly. And we can see on the price that nobody wish to do it essentially. (Sure there is a few, just not enough.)
Also the sudden removal of critical items like POS fuel and T2 added components is just bad planning. --------------------------------------

CCP knew that people will buy massive stocks in everything. That was allowed intentionally to avoid shortages of any vital material, like POS fuel to appear. Now there is supply of them until the market stabilizes.
This is EVE, the free market will fix it, the rich get richer, the poor get poorer, ISK vs reward ratio, etc. -------- All I want is a better mankind.
