Ohmagod ohmagod ohmagod. I have some steaks to barbeque, but I can't decide on the appropriate sidearm. The rich, full bodied flavor of Guinness or the clear refreshing flavor of a nice Stella Artois. These steaks aren't gonna cook themselves, but I can't face them empty handed. |

Guinness! (Am drinking one now.)
...however, if hot and a BBQ I am leaning towards proper ale. Guinness is a bit strong for BBQs. Ale goes down easier. |

Are you eating outside & what is the weather like if you are?
If it is incredibly sunny, and you are eating outside I would recommend a refreshing Stella Artois.
If not, Guinness all the way baby. |

Stella is betta! <cough> Guinness is more of a winter drink in my opinion, you want a nice chilled lager for outdoor barbecues and such.

Yea Guinness is a little much for an outdoor affair, esp. if it's bleeding hot outside, it's just going to warm up real quick and although I'm sure some diehards will claim Guinness is best if it nearly scalds your tongue it's so warm, but I prefer ice cold Guinness right outta the ol' fridge, so I'd def go with Stella Artois cuz it is a lighter consistency which fits well without an outdoor event and won't leave you feeling like you just ate a busload of food.

Boddingtons
though Guinness is cool if Boddingtons isn't an option

Stella (lager) for BBQs.
Guinness (Heavy, Bitter, 80s) is a cold weather drink, suitable for quaffing during the long rainy nights of northern Britain during winter. Stove pipe and cardigan optional.

Chimay Bleue, Westvleteren 12, Westmalle, Oude Geuze Boon,... nothing beats Belgian beers. Stella Artois is ok but for noobs. There is a beer for every type off meal in Belgium like with wine in France.

Chimay green/red/blue label isn't bad either. Belgian beers are pretty awesome. France can suck a ****. Lol. -

Guinness if I have to chose between the two, but imo nothing goes better with steak than a nice bock beer.

Also a Guinness man here, but for the BBQ the Stella might be more appropriate.
Also, since the topic is beer; it's my birthday today and I'm going to treat myself to a Liefmans Kriek out in the sun when I get home from work ;) |
